COMMERCIAL DISPUTES

Our decades of experience, wide-ranging sector knowledge, technical ability, attention to detail and communication skills allow us to assist clients in achieving desirable resolutions in a range of commercial disputes.  We provide initial advice pre-action, work as party expert, single joint expert or shadow expert in arbitration, mediation or litigation. We also act in expert determinations, acting as determinator or putting together submissions for an expert determination process. 

We are happy to assist early on cases, particularly in fast-moving or sensitive circumstances, providing an initial view.

FORENSIC INVESTIGATION, CRIME & CONFISCATION

We undertake forensic investigations, for example, involving suspected fraud or misconduct.  Our team have been personally instructed by the Secretary of State to investigate allegedly fraudulent companies under Section 447 of the Companies Act. Other past investigations include bookkeeper frauds, whistleblowing cases and assisting a UK-client with their response to one of the first prosecutions under the Bribery Act. 

Our team have worked on a range of criminal matters, acting for the defendant and the prosecution. We work on confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act, undertaking a review of the Defendant’s finances to assess the benefit made from criminal activity, along with the value of available assets.

We act for claimants and defendants as an adviser or expert. We can support clients in quantifying complex heads of claim, including pension lossesOur expert reports are well-reasoned and concise.
