AAB, a leading professional services firm supporting clients across the UK and Ireland, has been recognised as the top financial adviser for M&A activity in Scotland and Northern Ireland, as per Experian’s United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland M&A Review for 2025.

The review, which ranks financial advisers for deals by volume, confirms that AAB has retained its number one position in Scotland, with a total of 27 Scottish transactions recognised. This achievement reflects the continued strength, consistency, and depth of AAB’s Corporate Finance offering and long-standing position as a trusted advisor in the M&A market.

Alongside success in Scotland, AAB also ranked number 1 in Northern Ireland, with 25 deals recognised, a testament to our growth in the region. UK-wide, AAB achieved a record 13th in the Experian table for financial advisers with a total of 62 deals recognised, further illustrating AAB’s commitment to supporting clients across the country.

Throughout 2025, AAB advised on transactions across a broad range of sectors, including energy and infrastructure, health and social care, professional services, construction and property, food and drink, and technology, media and telecommunications. This sector diversity reflects AAB’s ability to support clients operating across both resilient and high-growth markets.

Commenting on the achievement, Gordon Steele, Head of Corporate Finance, said: “It is a fantastic achievement for our Corporate Finance team to be recognised as the leading M&A adviser in both Scotland and Northern Ireland. This result is a testament to the depth of our team, the quality of advice we provide, and the trust our clients place in us. Despite a challenging and evolving market, we have continued to deliver strong outcomes for our clients across a wide range of sectors.”

A key highlight of the year was AAB’s acquisition of award-winning advisory firm GS Verde. The acquisition significantly expanded AAB’s geographical footprint by entering Wales and the Southwest, establishing a new regional hub, and further enhancing the firm’s ability to deliver Corporate Finance services to clients across the UK. The GS Verde team ranked number 2 in Wales in the Financial Advisor rankings with 12 deals recognised.

In addition to this strategic acquisition, AAB further strengthened its Corporate Finance capability with the appointment of Paul Turner as Partner in Edinburgh, Connor Sproule as Senior Manager in Glasgow, and Bryan Chambers as Forensics Senior Manager in Belfast. These appointments enhance senior coverage and specialist expertise, reinforcing AAB’s ability to support clients at every stage of the deal lifecycle.

With continued investment in people, geographic reach, and sector expertise, AAB remains well-positioned in the M&A markets across the UK.
