THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND SKILLS, WHEN YOU NEED THEM

Talk to us about secondments

When you’re running your business cost-effectively, there may be times when your own people are at capacity or you have a special project that requires a different set of skills. We can provide temporary staffing solutions, with expertise in the audit of financial services, to satisfy your needs and keep driving your success.

We can transfer our highly capable personnel for long or short term staff secondments, to provide rapid response support, create cross-functional teams, fill gaps in the employment life cycle and accommodate peak workloads or projects.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Access to high-calibre accounting and tax staff
  • The specific expertise you require
  • Strengthening your in-house team’s skills
  • Flexibility and continuity of quality support
  • Integrated multi-disciplined service delivery
  • The right resource at the right time and place

A WIDE RANGE OF KNOWLEDGE

You may need people with a range of skills or a particular specialisation; we can almost certainly deliver. Our experienced and qualified individuals available for secondment or project support are drawn from across our teams, bringing expertise in areas such as the audit of financial services and other critical sectors, including:

Their skillsets will reflect our core services:

  • AAB have invested time in knowing us and as a result have been able to support us in improving our processes and systems. The team are always incredibly proactive in responding, price the offering fairly and deliver work that exceeds expectations.

Julia Rank, St Mungo’s Community Housing Association

  • The work AAB provided on our auto enrolment was excellent. Timely and pragmatic work delivered to high professional standards, whilst remaining personable and efficient throughout. Well done!

    Richard Smeaton, PD&MS Group

  • I cannot recommend AAB highly enough from my extensive experiences of their services which has included dissolving a partnership, becoming a sole trader and then subsequently incorporating the business, tax and general accountancy service and advice.

    Stephen Bonsor, The Dental Practice

  • Having AAB as our business partners gives me peace of mind as they listen, participate and work with us to ensure our goals are achieved.

    Gillian Irvine, NorDan

A GOOD FIT FOR YOUR BUSINESS

All our people are quick to assimilate and adapt to evolving situations; that’s one of the qualities that’s brought them to AAB. When they transfer to you, they’ll quickly expand their knowledge of your company, your challenges and objectives, your people’s roles and responsibilities, and the requirements of the audit of financial services.

Naturally you’ll have your own way of working – just as we do. Our people are adaptable and will quickly adopt your methods, whilst sharing some of the best practices they’ve developed with us. So as well as fulfilling a need, you also benefit from a fresh point of view and some ideas which you might like enough to adopt as your own.

THERE’S NO SUBSTITUTE FOR EXPERIENCE

Some businesses arrange secondments with students who are part way through their training or individuals who are only recently qualified, as this can often be an inexpensive solution. We’re all for students or recently qualified accountants having the opportunity to learn more in a different environment – it can be a very good move for their careers.

However, it’s true that there’s no substitute for experience, so if you are looking for secondment because you are seriously under pressure, that may be asking more of students or newly-qualified accountants than they can reasonably provide. All the AAB people available for secondments or project placements are knowledgeable, experienced and very capable. As well as supporting you, they are ambassadors for AAB which means they are already highly regarded.

AFFORDABLE & ETHICAL

Being ‘lean’ and only hiring full-time employees for essential roles allows you to be financially efficient, but leaves little ‘wiggle room’. By arranging a secondment or project support with us, you gain flexibility without making a major commitment, with personnel experienced in the audit of financial services.

As you may be aware, from 15 March 2020 the FRC’s Ethical Standard prohibited loan staff arrangements from your statutory auditor, even on a short-term basis. If you wish to retain your relationship with your existing external auditor, you must look elsewhere. Assuming we don’t provide that service to you, we can quickly deploy suitably experienced staff to suit your requirements.
