“EASING YOUR FINANCIAL CONCERNS TO FOCUS ON YOUR GOALS.”

Rebecca Walsh is a Tax Assistant Manager based in our Leeds office. She helps clients meet their personal and corporate tax compliance requirements, assesses the tax implications of their future plans, and provides high-quality advice to mitigate tax exposure and improve after-tax income.

Rebecca has extensive experience in tax returns, capital gains tax (CGT) reporting, capital allowances, P11Ds, PSAs, and voluntary disclosures, including Let Property Campaign disclosures. She works with a diverse range of clients ensuring they receive clear, practical, and proactive tax advice.

BUILDING STRONG CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS

“I aim for my clients to feel comfortable picking up the phone or sending an email whenever they have a question—whether it’s about a quick expense query or the tax implications of a major business decision. The best way to add value is by staying involved and being proactive, rather than just reacting when deadlines approach.

It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my advice has made a tangible difference in someone’s life or business. Whether it’s helping a client navigate cash flow issues, supporting a first-time business owner, or assisting someone in planning for retirement, I enjoy knowing that my work has helped ease their financial concerns and allowed them to focus on their goals.”

CHALLENGING THE TRADITIONAL APPROACH

“You don’t often get anywhere by just repeating the same approach—tax and business landscapes change rapidly, and staying ahead means embracing change and implementing beneficial adjustments as soon as possible.

I enjoy looking for new solutions that help clients adapt to legislative changes and optimise their tax position. Every client has unique circumstances, and finding tailored approaches that work best for them is a challenge I genuinely enjoy. By being adaptable and forward-thinking, we ensure that our clients are not just compliant but also making informed, strategic financial decisions.”

CLIENT FOCUSED APPROACH

“The best approach to working with clients depends entirely on their needs. Some prefer face-to-face meetings, which can be really beneficial for in-depth discussions, while others appreciate the convenience of virtual catch-ups. Flexibility is key to delivering a service that works best for them.

I aim to ensure clients feel like they can send me an email or call us about anything, whether it’s a quick expense query or asking about the tax implications of any plans they’re considering. That way we can adapt our approach to suit each client. Whether it’s a detailed in-person meeting or a quick virtual check-in, the goal is always to make the process as seamless and efficient as possible.”

OVERCOMING TAX CHALLENGES TOGETHER

“Tax is constantly evolving, and one of the biggest challenges is keeping up with those changes and ensuring clients understand how they affect them. It’s easy for clients to make a decision without realising the tax consequences, which is why staying in regular contact is so important. By having open conversations and providing advice before they take action, we can help them make informed decisions and avoid unexpected tax liabilities.

I also love the variety in my work—there’s always something new to learn, and I enjoy broadening my experience by taking on new types of projects. The constantly changing nature of tax keeps things interesting and pushes me to continuously develop my expertise.”

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

“The growth of AAB is an exciting opportunity, both for me and for the firm as a whole. As the business expands, we’re working with new clients, exploring new areas of expertise, and increasing the ways we can support businesses.

For me personally, I’m excited to continue developing my skills, learning from my colleagues, and taking on new challenges. AAB has a strong focus on collaboration, and being part of a team that supports and learns from each other makes a huge difference. There’s always something new to discover, and I look forward to continuing to grow with the firm.”

COLLABORATION IS A SUPERPOWER

“It’s so valuable to utilise each other’s knowledge and experience. While it’s important to do your own research, you learn so much more when working as a team. Someone will always have insights that can help solve a problem faster or find an even better solution.

A supportive team environment makes all the difference, and I love working in a place where everyone is approachable, where questions are always encouraged, and where we can all help each other develop. It’s not just about improving our own skills—it’s about making sure we provide the best possible service to our clients by leveraging the collective expertise of the whole team.”
