Meet the Corporate Tax team

Corporation tax compliance. Strategic tax advice. Tax due diligence.
Construction & Property. Retail & Hospitality. Business Services. Industrial.
Nicole Holmes is a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager based in our Belfast office. Her role involves helping businesses navigate complex tax legislation, ensuring they meet their compliance obligations, and providing clarity on tax matters. Whether it’s responding to general queries, preparing statutory accounts, or identifying opportunities for tax advantages, she works with clients to simplify processes and support their business goals.
With a background in a Big 4 tax team, Nicole combines her experience of working with large corporations with a hands-on, personalised approach to supporting SMEs and owner-managed businesses. Her expertise ensures clients receive a quality service that simplifies complex tax processes and adds real value to their business.
“For me, an ideal relationship with a client is based on trust and respect. Clients should feel confident that they can rely on us to deliver a quality service and to help them make informed decisions. Clear and concise communication is essential, and I always aim to ensure that clients leave our conversations with a greater understanding of tax matters.
I take the time to truly understand each client’s business, building relationships based on trust, transparency, and mutual respect. By breaking down complex tax issues, I help to empower clients to make well-informed decisions that benefit their operations.”
“I work with a great team of tax professionals with a variety of skills. We all work closely to share knowledge and experiences, ensuring we utilise the strengths of the team. It’s incredibly satisfying to work collaboratively to solve problems and deliver results for our clients.
The greatest strengths I bring to AAB are my diligence, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering quality work. I’m always striving to improve my tax knowledge and ensure that I’m providing clients with the best possible service. I believe collaboration is at the core of AAB’s success. Whether tackling technical challenges or exploring new opportunities, I value the team’s ability to support each other and combine their expertise to achieve the best outcomes for clients.”
“One of the AAB Group Values is ‘Nothing is more important than our people’, and I think this really rings true. The team works so well together, ensuring that everyone is supported. Whether it’s sharing opportunities, solving problems, or tackling a technical issue, there’s always someone willing to help.”
“The ever-changing nature of tax legislation can be a challenge. I’m dedicated to staying up to date with the latest developments and ensuring my clients are aware of any updates or tax advantages that might benefit them. It’s important that clients feel informed and confident in their tax position.”
“Virtual working allows us to deliver services with increased flexibility on both sides. We can work with our clients at a time that’s convenient for them, which makes processes more efficient. That said, face-to-face meetings remain a great way to strengthen relationships and get to know clients on a more personal level.”
“I joined AAB after training in a Big 4 tax team, and I’m excited about working closely with owner-managed businesses in the Northern Ireland business community. I’m also looking forward to using my knowledge of larger corporations to add value in new ways. The AAB network is continuously growing, and I’m excited about the opportunities that will come with this growth.”
