Marissa Wood is a Joint Venture Audit Assistant Manager based in our Aberdeen office. With a background in oil and gas engineering and construction projects, she brings a sharp commercial awareness and a strong grasp of contractual obligations to her role within our JV audit team. Marissa supports the end-to-end audit lifecycle, from proposals and planning through to budgeting, report writing, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring each audit is delivered with purpose, clarity, and impact.

Her dual experience across finance and project delivery helps her empathise with both sides of the audit table. This allows her to design audit approaches that are collaborative, efficient, and always focused on creating value for clients.

“My previous role linked finance and commercial teams across complex projects. That gave me first-hand insight into how contracts operate in real time, and how important it is to understand the finer details. It’s also where I developed a love of project work, and that’s exactly how I see audits.

Every audit has a beginning, middle, and end. I really enjoy shaping that journey, ensuring the planning stage is solid, the delivery is smooth, and the final reporting is clear. My time working on the other side of the audit process means I’ve experienced the competing priorities people face day to day. That’s why I approach every audit with a strong focus on minimising disruption and maximising cooperation.”
