“SUPPORT THAT GOES BEYOND NUMBERS.”

Based in our Bolton office, Lesley is a dedicated Private Client Manager bringing over a decade of experience. Having worked across various accounting functions, from bookkeeping and payroll to compliance, she has a well-rounded understanding of client needs and the intricacies of tax regulation.

Every day is different for Lesley, whether she’s liaising with HMRC, speaking with clients about their tax concerns, or managing tight deadlines like P11Ds to prevent penalties. Lesley is approachable and committed to ensuring her clients feel supported and confident in their tax affairs, no matter how complex the challenge.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

“A successful relationship is built on feeling heard and supported, and that’s exactly what I always aim to deliver. No matter how small an update may be, I keep my clients informed at every stage. Whether it’s a routine tax return or a more complex issue, clients know they can contact me with any query or worry, and I’ll be there with a practical solution.

For me, it’s more than numbers. It’s about creating a safe space where clients feel reassured and understood. That’s how trust grows, and successful partnerships are formed.”

ALWAYS LOOKING AT THE BIGGER PICTURE

“With experience across departments including wages, payroll, and tax, I offer a well-rounded perspective that helps clients see the full picture. I approach tax with a personal, human touch, always striving to make things clearer and less stressful for my clients.

My goal is to ensure clients feel supported, understood, and confident that there’s someone in their corner who genuinely wants to help.”

LEARNING FROM EXPERIENCE

“One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of asking for help. Early in my career, I’d try to solve everything on my own, but there is always value in working together. At AAB, we all have different strengths and learning from others only makes us improve. That’s one of the things I love about working here, we will always support each other and have a shared commitment to doing what’s right for our clients.”

TECH WITH HUMAN TOUCH

“Technology has completely changed the way we work. It helps us serve clients more efficiently and stay connected with colleagues across the business. But while I embrace these tools, I’m mindful that not everyone finds technology easy to navigate. I once worked with an older couple facing capital gains tax issues. The challenge wasn’t the tax itself, but the tech involved in reporting it. That’s why personal, face-to-face interaction will always remain at the heart of how I support my clients.”

SUPPORT WHEN IT MATTERS MOST

“Being told by a client that they couldn’t have solved an issue without you is one of the best compliments you can receive. I once supported a client through a complex tax issue by building trust and keeping him updated at every step. Still to this day, we will speak regularly, and he knows he can come to me with any query, big or small.

Whether it’s correcting four years’ worth of tax returns or helping someone through a one-off challenge, it’s those little wins that remind me why this work matters. To me, it’s not just about compliance, a tick box exercise, it’s more than that. The work we do can and does change clients’ lives, even if it’s in small, meaningful ways.”

TAX WITH A HUMAN TOUCH

“People often assume tax is boring and purely numbers-based, but I couldn’t disagree more. There’s so much more human touch in what we do. Clients come to us with real problems, sometimes feeling overwhelmed and leave with clarity, relief. That’s the side of tax that I love. It’s about connection, confidence and those little wins that make a big difference.”

LOOKING AHEAD WITH PURPOSE

“The world of tax is constantly evolving, and I’m excited to grow with it. Whether it’s getting to grips with the new systems or learning how AI can help us work smarter, I’m always looking to improve. However, one thing will never change, and that’s that I’ll always prioritise people. The relationships I build, the trust I earn and the difference I make to someone’s day are what keep me going.”
