Specialist support for the healthcare community

“I’ve been working with healthcare professionals for many years, and I understand the pressures and time constraints they face. My role is to take the stress out of managing their finances by providing clear, thorough, and timely advice on accounts, taxation, and pensions. Whether it’s preparing annual accounts, computing Tax Returns or submitting the right pension forms, I make sure every detail is handled so my clients can concentrate on what they do best.”

Communication is key

“Building strong client relationships is all about trust and consistency. I believe in keeping clients informed from the start, delivering work on time, and always being available to answer questions. Some prefer face-to-face meetings, others a call, email, or virtual catch-up. I adapt my approach to suit each client, as no one size fits all. The goal is for every client to feel confident they can pick up the phone or send an email to me without any hesitation.”

Bringing clarity to complex issues

“The NHS Pension Scheme can be a minefield for many healthcare professionals, and I’m here to make it manageable. I complete annual pension certificates, practice estimate forms, and annual allowance tax calculations, and liaise directly with NHS Pensions and PCSE to keep records accurate.

One client had been unable to resolve historic pension problems for years. By piecing together the details, making the right enquiries, and submitting the necessary paperwork, I was able to bring their record fully up to date. Knowing this was a huge relief to my client, and that I had made a difference, made it all worthwhile.”

The greatest compliment

“For me, the greatest compliment is when a client recommends me to someone else. It’s a sign they value the help and advice I’ve given. Hearing that I’ve made a real difference, whether it’s resolving a long-standing issue or simply giving clients clarity on a complex matter, is what makes the work so rewarding.”

More than numbers

“There’s a common misconception that accountants simply crunch numbers, but in my role, it’s about so much more than that. It’s about understanding people, solving problems, and making their professional lives easier. My approach is always thorough and detail-focused, but also personable and approachable. I want clients to feel confident they can turn to me for guidance, knowing I’ll give clear, reliable advice that helps them achieve peace of mind.”

Always looking to learn & improve

“Accountancy and taxation never stand still, and neither does the healthcare sector. I stay up to date with changes in legislation, tax rules, and NHS pension schemes through training, and as a member of both the ICAEW Healthcare Community and AISMA, I benefit from a network of peers to share insights and best practice. While I’m enthusiastic about the efficiencies that cloud-based and AI technology can bring, I believe nothing can replace genuine client relationships.”

A career built on variety

“After leaving college, I was keen to start my career in accountancy and joined Barlow Andrews in 2008 as an Accounts Trainee. I completed my AAT exams, moved into audit, and later qualified as an ACA. In 2016, I became Healthcare Sector Manager, and I’ve specialised in this area ever since. No two days are the same. There’s always a new challenge or regulation to navigate, and that’s exactly what keeps the work interesting.”

Strength in collaboration

“I’m proud to be part of a supportive team where everyone brings their own strengths and experience to the table. Between the team here in Bolton and the wider business, we have the skills to cover every aspect of our clients’ needs, which benefits every client we work with.”
