HOW I HELP

Planning. Budgeting. Partnering.

“I always aim to provide clarity and context behind the numbers”

Jacquie Scullion is a Business Controller based in our Edinburgh office, bringing over two decades of experience in financial planning, analysis, and business partnering to the team, and is no stranger to the intricacies of strategic financial management.

Jacquie is focused on helping the wider business by ensuring internal processes run smoothly, so client-facing teams can deliver the highest levels of service. Whether she’s deep in a spreadsheet or translating figures into clear, impactful stories, Jacquie provides dependable financial insight that empowers smarter decision-making across the organisation.

Numbers with purpose

“No two weeks are the same. One day, I’m deep in a spreadsheet creating pivot tables, the next I’m working through budgets or discussing project pipelines with teams. I’m here to ensure our financial reporting and strategy align with the real-world demands our teams and clients face.

I might not be on the front line with clients, but everything I do behind the scenes is geared towards helping our team deliver the best results. If the business runs efficiently, our teams are free to do what they do best – support clients and build trusted relationships.”

Collaboration drives success

“I work ‘behind the scenes’, making sure our client teams have the support they need to provide the best service to clients. For me, collaboration isn’t just a nice-to-have. It’s how we get things done and get things done to the highest standard that our clients deserve.

Whether it’s refining forecasts, challenging assumptions, or supporting a transformation project, I believe in working closely with people to understand what they really need.”

Providing confidence through clarity

“One of the most satisfying parts of my role is when someone feels more confident after we’ve worked through something together. That could mean simplifying a model, finding a new way to look at the numbers, or just being a sounding board. That moment when things click makes it all worth it.

I aim to be someone the team can rely on not just for numbers, but for clarity and perspective, especially when things feel fast-paced.”

Embracing change

“Today, we have new tools and technology at our fingertips. Embracing that change has allowed me to shift from simply processing data to telling stories with it. Stories that help our teams and leaders make quicker, smarter decisions.

It hasn’t always been easy to keep up with the ever-changing landscape, but I’ve learnt to stay curious, stay calm, and stay collaborative. That’s my motto, and it serves me well.”

Building relationships that matter

“Strong relationships, whether internal or external, start with trust, and trust isn’t built in a single conversation. It’s the result of showing up, listening, and being a steady presence, which I always aim to be for my team and colleagues across the wider business.”

Breaking the stereotype

“There’s a common misconception that finance people are spreadsheet obsessed. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

At the heart of my role is people. Collaborating with others and helping people feel less daunted by the numbers is what it’s all about.”

Bringing strengths to the table

“Over the last two decades, I’ve learned a lot. From spreadsheets and strategy to the importance of humour and humility. Every day is a school day, and everyone has something to teach us.

I bring a collaborative mindset, strong people skills, and a passion for helping others make sense of complexity. Whether it’s reviewing a budget or leading through change, I’m here to make a positive impact.”

Excited for what’s ahead

“Being part of a growing business is really exciting. I’m looking forward to deepening my understanding of reporting dashboards and exploring the insights available. With experience preparing presentation packs for senior leadership across multiple sectors, I also bring diverse knowledge and best practices I’m keen to share with the team.”
