“ORGANISED & RELIABLE SO CLIENTS FEEL CONFIDENT.”

Based in our Leeds office, Anna Piercy is a Business Advisory Assistant Manager at AAB, supporting a wide range of clients with their financial reporting, corporate tax compliance and advisory needs. Much of her role focuses on family investment companies, where she prepares annual accounts, corporate tax returns and supports clients navigating increasingly complex investment structures. Alongside this, Anna works closely with professional practices, including solicitor clients, delivering SAR audit work, and also supports SMEs with the preparation of their annual accounts.

Anna joined AAB as a graduate, and she was motivated by the way her role evolved alongside her confidence and experience. As her responsibilities have grown, so too has her enjoyment of supporting clients and colleagues alike. This natural progression, combined with a strong interest in understanding how businesses operate and grow, has cemented her desire to build a long-term career in business advisory at AAB.

BUILT ON TRUST

“I believe strong client relationships are built on consistency and communication. One of my non-negotiables is making sure no client ever feels forgotten. I take the time to maintain regular contact, whether that’s through scheduled calls, timely updates, or simply checking in when I know a client may need reassurance.

Many clients have told me they value this approach, and by taking the initiative to speak with clients, visit them on site where possible and understand their business properly, helps build trust and opens up better conversations. Over time, this means clients feel comfortable coming back to me with questions, even if we haven’t worked together recently, which I see as a real sign of a successful relationship.”

NO TWO WEEKS ARE THE SAME

“My role is varied, which is something I really enjoy. There’s a balance between detailed technical work and client communication, which keeps things interesting and ensures I stay closely connected to the businesses I support.

This variety also means I’m constantly learning and adapting. Clients benefit from this breadth of experience, as it allows me to draw on insights from different types of work and apply them in a practical, commercial way.”

A DETAIL-DRIVEN APPROACH

“Organisation is one of my biggest strengths, and it underpins everything I do. Clients often come to us feeling overwhelmed by deadlines, regulations or complex structures. My role is to bring order and clarity to that, ensuring work is delivered accurately, on time and with a clear explanation of what it means for them.

I’m also enthusiastic about making sure clients get the most out of the service they receive.”

CONFIDENCE BUILT THROUGH EXPERIENCE

“One of the biggest challenges in my career was moving from the audit team into the Business Advisory Group early on. It took confidence and then determination to get up to speed in a department where many colleagues had started their careers.

That experience taught me a lot about adaptability and resilience. It also gave me a valuable audit perspective, which helps me understand businesses differently and strengthens the quality of my advisory work. Clients benefit from this broader viewpoint, particularly when dealing with complex reporting or compliance matters.”

TURNING COMPLEXITY INTO CLARITY

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is working through complex investments within family investment companies. These situations often involve detailed research, technical analysis and close collaboration with the wider team to determine the correct tax treatment. For clients, this means confidence that even unfamiliar or complex scenarios are being handled thoroughly and correctly.”

STRENGTH IN TEAMWORK

“What really stands out to me about AAB is the people. We have a genuinely supportive team culture where everyone is willing to help each other. That collaboration directly benefits clients, as it means we can draw on a wide range of expertise to deliver the best possible outcomes.

Being part of a firm that values both technical excellence and relationships allows me to do my job well and continue developing my skills in a positive environment.”

INVESTING IN GROWTH

“I’m particularly keen to continue developing my work with SMEs and gain exposure to an even wider range of clients. Expanding my experience helps me build stronger commercial awareness and deliver more rounded advice.”

MORE THAN NUMBERS

“One common misconception about my profession is that it’s boring. In reality, the work is diverse and people-focused. Behind every set of accounts is a business or family with real goals, concerns and ambitions – and helping them navigate that is what makes the role rewarding.”
