“PROVIDING CLEAR SOLUTIONS TO COMPLEX CHALLENGES.”
Tanya O’Hare is a Restructuring & Recovery (R&R) Manager at AAB, working across both personal and corporate insolvency cases throughout the North and South of Ireland. With over 15 years’ experience, she supports individuals, company directors and businesses facing financial pressure, helping them navigate complex situations with clarity and confidence.
Her role is varied, involving everything from reviewing financial information and drafting proposals to managing asset realisations and liaising closely with clients and creditors. Tanya is known for her pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, ensuring each client receives tailored advice that delivers the best possible outcome while helping them move forward with certainty.
Her route into the profession is not the traditional accountancy path. Tanya began her career in debt management before joining the Restructuring & Recovery team in 2015. After completing the Accounting Technician Ireland qualification in 2017, she developed a strong passion for helping people overcome financial challenges, providing clear advice and practical solutions to help them regain control and get back on track.
“For me, everything starts with the relationship. When a client comes to me, they’re often dealing with stress, uncertainty and, in many cases, pressure from creditors. My priority is to create a space where they feel heard and understood. I take time to get to know each client properly, whether that’s through face-to-face meetings or regular check-ins, and I make sure communication is consistent throughout the process.
I believe reassurance is just as important as technical advice. By keeping clients informed, setting clear expectations and delivering on what I say I’ll do, I help them regain a sense of control. Ultimately, it’s about building trust so they feel confident that we’re working towards the right solution together.”
“No two cases are ever the same, which is why I take a pragmatic approach to every situation. My role involves reviewing detailed financial information, understanding the full picture and identifying the most appropriate insolvency or restructuring solution – whether that’s a CVL, IVA or PIA.
I focus on what will genuinely work for the client, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. With my background spanning both personal and corporate insolvency, I’m able to look at challenges from multiple angles and provide clear, practical advice. My goal is always to simplify what can feel like an overwhelming process and guide clients towards a realistic and achievable outcome.”
“One of the biggest challenges in my career was transitioning from corporate insolvency into personal insolvency at a time when it was still a relatively new area in the South of Ireland. There was a lot of uncertainty, and it required me to step outside my comfort zone.
Through determination, teamwork and a willingness to learn, I was able to adapt and grow. That experience taught me resilience, patience and the importance of embracing change. It’s something I carry into my work today, helping clients face uncertainty with confidence and showing them that there is always a way forward.”
“The most rewarding part of my role is achieving positive outcomes that work for all parties involved. I find it particularly fulfilling to support clients through challenging situations, helping to create the space and structure needed for a constructive resolution.
Seeing a situation move from uncertainty to stability, where an individual or business can continue moving forward, is what makes the work especially meaningful to me. Moments like that are why I do what I do: helping people regain a sense of control and move ahead with confidence.”
“Being part of AAB is something I truly value. Within our team, there’s a strong sense of trust and shared purpose; we’re all working towards the same goal of delivering the best outcomes for our clients. That support makes a real difference, particularly in a fast-paced and often demanding environment.
As AAB continues to grow, it also creates opportunities to develop and expand our expertise. For me, that means continuously learning and finding new ways to improve how we support our clients.”
“I’d describe my approach as organised, pragmatic and collaborative. I’m someone who takes ownership of my work, keeps things on track and ensures deadlines are met, even when the pressure is high.
At the same time, I’m a strong team player. I believe the best outcomes come from working together, sharing knowledge and supporting one another. I’m also always looking to develop my skills further, particularly within restructuring and recovery, so I can continue to add value to my clients.”
“One of the biggest misconceptions about restructuring and recovery is that it’s purely negative. In reality, it’s about solutions, support and fresh starts.
Yes, clients come to us during difficult times, but our role is to help them navigate those challenges and come out the other side in a stronger position. Whether that’s rescuing a business or helping an individual regain financial stability, the work we do is ultimately about progress and possibility.”
“I’m always keen to keep learning and developing, particularly as the restructuring and recovery landscape continues to evolve. I’m especially interested in how technology, including AI, can support our day-to-day work, whether that’s improving efficiency or enhancing the way we analyse information.
Staying ahead of these developments allows me to provide an even better service to my clients and ensures I’m equipped to handle whatever challenges come next.”
“For me, it all comes back to providing clear solutions to complex challenges. When clients come to me, they’re often at a difficult point, but they’re also looking for a way forward.
My role is to guide them through that process with honesty, clarity and a focus on achieving the best possible outcome. By combining experience, practical thinking and a genuine commitment to helping people, I aim to make a real difference, helping clients move on with confidence and a renewed sense of control.”
