Sepsis Research FEAT

“Sepsis kills around 50,000 people every year in the UK. Here at Sepsis Research FEAT we are trying to understand why some people get so critical sick with sepsis and others do not. Currently, we don’t understand the condition and we don’t understand the biological processes that cause death by sepsis. The donation from ABBIE has allowed us to purchase 50 sample collection boxes, where a blood sample is taken from a critically ill patient and returned to the GenOMICC Team at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, where the DNA is extracted and examined to find the genetic differences in the hope of putting an end to sepsis and producing more effective treatments.” Colin Graham, Chief Operating Officer
