WHO I HELP

I support all kinds of businesses from SMEs to large corporate clients.

HOW I HELP

I give clear concise advice, based on technical knowledge and an aptitude for explaining complex situations in simple terms.

SECTORS/SUPPORT

I support Construction and Property, Energy, Food and Drink and Public Sector, working with tax, HR and Senior Executives.

“I LIKE SOLVING THE ISSUES THAT KEEP MY CLIENTS UP AT NIGHT.”

Gillian Forrest is a Senior Manager within our Global Employment Taxes team. Based in our Glasgow office, Gillian focuses on UK employment taxes, such as Payroll Compliance, Employment Status Reviews/IR35, HMRC Employer Compliance, SAO, Employee Communications, as well as training on all of the above.

MUTUAL GOALS

“I would describe the ideal relationship with a client as one that has open and honest communication, where we trust each other, have mutual goals, are respectful to each other, and are able to have positive experiences throughout our collaborative work.”

A TRUSTED ADVISOR

“Clients expect honesty from me. They expect me to be a trusted advisor, and to provide them with robust advice based on accurate information and a solid understanding of their situation.”

SOLVING ISSUES

“For me the most satisfying aspect of working with clients is solving the issues that are keeping them up at night. I like finding out about what makes them and their business tick. It’s crucial to do this to be able to provide the best possible support and service.”

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

“In terms of working with my colleagues, the most satisfying aspect is helping them achieve their potential, and learning from more experienced colleagues. I love helping and getting to know all different types of people; diversity and inclusivity is a big passion of mine.”

PASSION & INTEGRITY

“I am certainly assertive when I need to be. I’m passionate about my work and doing it well, and sometimes this means being honest when it’s something someone would rather not hear, or dealing with a difficult situation with integrity.”

GETTING THE BEST OUT OF PEOPLE

“I have a very hands-on, can-do attitude, I love to help nurture people, and I think that reflects in my work. I seem to get the best out of people and that not only helps them grow but helps AAB grow too. I’m a big people person, and I truly believe that people are our biggest asset as a firm.”

RESOLUTIONS & POSITIVITY

“I have been told that I not only bring resolution to problems, but do it in a positive way and I’m always smiling even when things are more challenging.”
