“I’m excited by innovation & creativity.”

Alasdair Green is a Partner and Head of Energy and a senior member of our Energy Team. Yet there are many more facets to his roles at AAB. He’s also a member of the Corporate Finance Department, is Head of ESG and is integral to our Business Development – working on new strategies across our departments to offer more to our clients, strengthen relationships and indeed, forge new ones.

“I’ve got a really interesting and privileged role or rather, several roles. I’m Head of Energy for AAB. I’m Head of ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) and I am also a member of the Corporate Finance department and that’s where I deliver most of my projects.

I work very closely with Virtual Finance, Audit, Joint Venture Audit, Tax, and with other departments in supporting and leading business development, bringing in new clients and building those relationships. In my engagement partner role I manage a range of services holistically to improve efficiency and add value. I bring people together and build project teams to fulfil different services for clients.”

“It’s very satisfying to give great customer service, but our clients aren’t our only customers. It also extends to colleagues; we all serve each other, so everybody is a customer. If I want the best service from someone, I need to give my best possible input, so they can perform their role to the very best of their ability.

I love to demonstrate good project management to colleagues so that maybe they can adopt some of that in their own style. This is one of the keys to our great team spirit: genuinely working together, sharing problems, knowing you can trust everyone. We quietly get on with it in a consistently confident way.”

“What I also bring is a network of C-suite individuals, from nine years as a headhunter, this really helps me in my business development role.

As a member of the leadership team, I help to drive and deliver our strategy, from our internal organisation to how we go to market, to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) which is integral to meeting the requirements of our clients.”

“What sets us apart at AAB is that we honestly care about our relationships, our service delivery and the results of our actions. I love to exceed expectations and believe that’s always the right approach, because it sets us apart from those firms who aren’t prepared to put in the extra effort.

Communication is a major challenge. I do a lot of international work and energy is such a broad and diverse industry; I often engage with people in the US who have never heard of AAB. I have to get their attention and persuade them to look at a proposition I think will be of interest to them.”

“I’m excited about achieving really good organisation of people and processes. I love to get things done, to show enthusiasm for everything we do and everyone we work with.

I also get a lot of pleasure in seeing the results of thinking ahead and being able to go to clients with solutions to problems that they may not have anticipated. I love the freedom within AAB to be creative and to innovate, to bring solutions that cement a really strong client relationship.”

  • Having AAB as our business partners gives me peace of mind as they listen, participate and work with us to ensure our goals are achieved.
