“I LOVE COLLABORATING WITH MY TEAM AND CLIENTS.”

Lorraine Quinn is an Audit Partner and Head of Glasgow Audit for AAB. She brings over 30 years of experience supporting a range of clients, including global organisations with complex international operations. Lorraine works closely with clients to guide them through the audit process, providing clarity, reassurance and insight while leading high-performing teams who deliver consistently high-quality outcomes.

She pursued a career in audit driven by a desire for a challenging role and variety, and the opportunity to work closely with businesses at pivotal moments. Her global experience, combined with client secondments, has given her a broad perspective and a deep understanding of how businesses operate beyond the audit.

Lorraine joined AAB at an exciting stage in the firm’s growth journey, attracted by its ambition, culture and the opportunities. As Head of Audit in Glasgow, Lorraine plays a key role in shaping the firm’s audit offering while remaining closely involved with clients and teams.

BUILDING TRUST WITH EVERY CONVERSATION

“For me, strong client relationships are built on time, trust and genuine understanding. I make it a priority to spend time with clients, getting to know their people, their culture and what really matters to them. Face-to-face conversations are invaluable, particularly when navigating complex or sensitive issues, and I believe listening carefully is just as important as offering advice.

I’m open, fair and honest with clients, particularly during challenging periods. I don’t shy away from asking difficult questions if it helps protect their business or strengthen outcomes. Client’s value knowing where they stand, and I work hard to ensure communication is clear, timely and constructive throughout the audit process.”

SUPPORTING TEAMS, EMPOWERING CLIENTS

“One of my key strengths is my ability to collaborate and bring people with me. Whether working with clients or internal teams, I focus on creating an environment where everyone feels engaged, valued and confident in their role. With my depth of experience, I bring perspective and calm leadership, particularly when managing complex audits or tight deadlines.

I’ve worked closely with clients through audits and periods of change, which has given me a deep understanding of their wider business needs. Clients often tell me they value my leadership and the way I help translate technical requirements into practical, meaningful insight. My aim is always to add value beyond compliance, ensuring the audit supports better decision-making.”

LEADING THROUGH CHANGE

“A significant challenge in my career came during COVID-19, when ensuring audit teams could continue delivering quality work required flexibility and innovation. Working closely with clients, we adapted processes and leveraged technology to maintain communication and collaboration. The experience reinforced the value of a collaborative approach and showed that even in uncertainty, clients can rely on consistent, practical support.”

GROWING TOGETHER WITH AAB

“Being part of AAB is about more than delivering audit services; it’s about building something meaningful together. I find it incredibly rewarding to support colleagues in their professional and personal development and to play a role in their growth journeys. Seeing people progress, gain confidence and achieve their goals is one of the most satisfying aspects of my role.

The firm’s focus on quality, innovation and collaboration aligns strongly with my own values, and I’m proud to contribute to shaping the future of audit within the business.”

TECHNOLOGY WITH PURPOSE

“Technology is evolving rapidly, and audit must evolve with it. I’m particularly interested in how AI is increasingly being used by clients and how we, as auditors, respond to that change. At AAB, we’re focused on harnessing the power of technology responsibly – using it to enhance efficiency and insight while maintaining appropriate controls and professional judgement.

I’m keen to continue developing my understanding of emerging technologies and trends, ensuring clients are supported in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Helping clients navigate technological change while maintaining confidence in their reporting is an increasingly important part of audit.”

CHANGING PERCEPTIONS

“A common misconception about audit is that it’s repetitive or predictable. In reality, no two days are the same. Every client, business and challenge is different, and the work is varied, engaging and highly rewarding. Audit provides a unique insight into how businesses operate and the opportunity to support them through both opportunities and challenges.”
