AAB marks Manchester launch with city business community

AAB has formally marked the launch of its new Manchester office, welcoming around 80 professionals and business leaders from across the city to an event at No.1 St Michael’s.

The event, held at Grind on the ground floor of AAB’s new offices, brought together representatives from across Manchester’s business and professional services community.

The UK and Ireland accounting firm officially opened the Manchester office in July, launching with an initial team of nine. The firm has set out ambitions to grow to a team of over 200 people in the city over the coming years through a combination of senior appointments and investment in emerging talent.

Speaking at the event, Chris Harland, Head of the North West at AAB, said: “Manchester is a really important part of AAB’s growth plans. We want to become a proper member of the business community here, working alongside advisers and ambitious businesses to support the continued growth of the regional economy.

“The North West is home to an incredible range of ambitious businesses and our aim is to build a team in Manchester that can support them at every stage of their growth, both in the UK and internationally.”

Andrew Toolan, Head of Sector, Financial, Professional & Business Services at Invest Manchester, also addressed guests.

He said: “Manchester is experiencing one of the most exciting city-region growth stories in Europe, and businesses choosing to invest here are fundamental to that success.

“AAB has made a commitment to Manchester, and our commitment in return is to support the firm as it grows. A strong professional services community is critical to helping businesses across our priority sectors access the finance, expertise and advice they need to scale.”

AAB’s Manchester office forms part of the group’s growing UK footprint and builds on its existing presence in Bolton.
