Apprenticeship Programme

Join us for our AAB Open Evening for Early Careers on 1 December to hear directly from previous trainees about what it’s like to be an Apprentice at AAB

The AAB Apprenticeship Programme is a fantastic alternative route into a career in accountancy and business advisory. Instead of going to university, you will start to study towards your chosen professional qualification just one year after commencement of employment at AAB. With a clear career path outlined, practical experience is gained from day one, with routes to professional qualifications discussed and agreed at the time when the trainee is ready to take on this study commitment.

As part of our apprenticeship programme, you will also be joining our other trainees undertaking internship, student placement and graduate trainee roles and learning alongside them. We are a very social firm, value good relationships and encourage participation in the numerous sports, social and fundraising events organised by Social Club and through AABIE.

Typically, our Apprentices work in our audit, business advisory services or payroll teams

Auditing involves the examination of clients’ accounts to ensure that the financial statements provided by the organisation are accurate. Additional services provided by our Audit team are Audit fraud prevention and whistleblowing services. As an Apprentice in Audit you will be a key member of the team and will complete chargeable work for our clients.

The Business Advisory Services team at AAB provide proactive planning and compliance services for owner managed businesses from commencement to cessation. The joined up approach of accounting services, tax, VAT and planning solutions allows our apprentices variety and a wide range of experience in a busy and challenging team environment.

A career in Payroll truly is challenging and rewarding. With no two days the same, working in payroll is a motivating and stimulating career choice. Our team work in a fast-paced and buzzing environment and we are therefore seeking organised, deadline-driven, hardworking individuals to join us. AAB payroll trainees kick-start their career with our structured training programme and learning from our experienced team. From day one you will be an active member of the team, taking on your own responsibilities and communicating regularly with clients and colleagues.
