Who I help
Internal teams.
How I Help
I mine, transform and provide visualisations of data, mainly in Microsoft Power BI Platform.
“I HAVE A CONSCIENCE ABOUT EVERYTHING I DO.”
Iain Macdonald is a Business Intelligence Manager within AAB Group.
Working remotely from his home of the Isle of Lewis, Iain ensures that all data is reported robustly, relevantly, and in a timely fashion.
He also works to ensure that the data from the different departments and entities within the Group is consolidating properly.
SECTORS/SUPPORT
I have been mostly working with Finance and Sales, and other entities within the Group.
MUTUAL RESPECT
“In my opinion, an ideal relationship with internal clients consists of mutual respect and realistic expectations. I think they expect me to have their expectations and requirements at the forefront of everything I do.”
GETTING THINGS DONE TOGETHER
“The most satisfying part of my work is getting things done together and for one another as a team.”
ASKING QUESTIONS
“I am not scared to ask questions when I do not know the answers myself or when I think someone else is wrong – in a helpful and respectful way of course!”
‘NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR PEOPLE’
“Working remotely from the Isle of Lewis I have been 100% virtual since starting at AAB. I have found that my colleagues have been very welcoming and supportive since joining the company and that they are genuinely living out the Group Value that nothing is more important than our people.
It feels good to be working with people I like, in an environment I like (remotely), and within a culture I like at AAB.”
CONSTANT LEARNING
“The greatest challenge I face in my work is probably ensuring that I keep up to date with continual tech development both within the company and of existing software. This is crucial to be able do my job properly, and therefore it’s a case of constantly learning.”
HAVING A CONSCIENCE
“One of the greatest strengths I bring to AAB is probably my conscience – I have a conscience about everything I do, and I do not like letting people down.”
