Lynn Gracie is our Private Client International Tax Director heading up the AAB Private Client International Tax Team. She specialises in all aspects of international tax, including complex cross border advice to high net worth and globally mobile individuals, both inbound and outbound in the UK, including UK residents, non-domiciled or non-UK residents.

Based in our Aberdeen office, Lynn has responsibility for leading and developing our private client teams across all the AAB offices.

Lynn can advise on a wide range of tax areas across multiple jurisdictions, confirming the potential tax implications of relocation, specialist tax advice connected to employer share awards, property transactions, and reporting of complex overseas investments and pension arrangements to HMRC.

“I work closely with our corporate tax international team, our wealth team and our international associations and firms worldwide to give clients a truly holistic approach to their international tax affairs.

Our approach is centred around awesome client service and ahead of time delivery and I instil this in my team and the international network we’re part of. The AAB values and culture are important in everything we do. We work with individuals and firms internationally that share these values and culture, to ensure the highest standard of service across the globe.”

“I’m genuinely interested in all my clients. I care about them, their businesses, and their family. Because I build trusted relationships, I am uniquely placed to provide relatable bespoke tax advice, always tailored to the individual client.”

I proactively look at ways to save tax using effective, but realistic methods. I’m not afraid to challenge or ask awkward questions, to ensure the best result for clients. We go into a much greater level of detail than many clients expect, but in doing so, we utilise this information to better offer outstanding service and advice, hopefully making a real difference to a client’s overall tax position.”

“With the strength of the tax team here at AAB, there isn’t anything that anybody asks us that we can’t provide an answer for.

Our mission, it to demystify tax complexity and explain everything to a client in a way they can readily understand. I love it when clients have that light bulb moment and begin to fully appreciate what we are doing, why we are doing it and the benefits for them. It can sometimes take months to achieve the right outcome and it will always be because of great teamwork behind the scenes. I am very lucky to work with an amazing team who continually strive for exceptional client service and advice.”

“Working in tax requires an ability to adapt to continual changes in tax legislation and technology. We use technology to deliver services to clients effectively, but we don’t accept the tech status quo. We continually challenge and innovate to find ways of doing things more efficiently.

In terms of global tax advice, there is no doubt that the world is a smaller place. It has never been easier for businesses and individuals to communicate, travel and trade internationally. We are and always have been, ready for the growth and change in the global market.”
