“STRENGTH THROUGH DIVERSITY OF EXPERTISE.”

Louise McIntosh-Graham is a Senior Manager within our Virtual Finance Function team, delivering our VFF service to a variety of clients. Based in our Aberdeen office, Louise is currently working on a number of clients who are involved in the UK Oil and Gas Industry, providing them with the full Virtual Finance Function of invoice processing, management reporting, VAT returns, payroll and annual accounts.

EXPERT ADVICE

“Our clients expect great communication and trust that the service will be delivered to a high standard with no surprises. They also expect industry experience and the ability to deliver what we have committed to as well as expert advice on any issues they may have, process improvements or help with projects.”

CHALLENGING THE STATUS QUO

“As we all have a diverse range of backgrounds and finance experience, there is always someone who will be able to help you if required. It’s this strength through diversity of expertise, knowledge and approach that allows us to challenge the status quo or the current way of doing things and find more efficient ways to perform tasks.”

FLEXIBLE COMMUNICATION

“As someone who has embraced home working, it is great that we have been able to demonstrate that people can work from any location while delivering the same standard of service. It is always good to meet clients (and team) face to face but it is now easier to jump on a Teams call with them on a more regular basis saving time/costs and of course the environment in a small way.”

RAPIDLY CHANGING INDUSTRY

“There are a lot of changes within the oil industry with the Net Zero agenda and the reduction of carbon emissions. There are also more investment companies buying into established assets which provides opportunities for AAB to provide them with the required industry knowledge without having to invest in a full inhouse finance function.”

NEW OPPORTUNITIES

“What excites me most about the future at AAB is having the opportunity to work with such a wide variety of clients, as well as having the opportunity to develop and progress through the company. AAB is growing so quickly, with so many new opportunities to get involved in – there’s a lot to look forward to.”

NOT ACCEPTING ‘NO’ FOR AN ANSWER

“I have over 20 years of experience working within the oil Industry in a variety of companies, with experience working in all of the different finance functions. I don’t accept “we can’t do that” or “no” as an answer, if I believe there should be an easier or more streamlined way of doing something, there normally is. It may not have been challenged before or the question may not have been posed as to whether it can be done. I am always willing to help with whatever needs to be done to help the client or the team.”

TRANSFORMING PROCESSES

“The greatest compliment a client has paid me was when they told me that it had been a pleasure working with me and that I had completely transformed the reporting process which ensured they had the information they required and could trust the numbers were correct.”

MISCONCEPTIONS

“Some people think accountants don’t add value, and that we are the people who stand in the way of people spending the money they like. Whereas the truth is that we can assist them by providing the information that they require to make the best decisions for the future of the company.”
