ESG Diligence: The Key To Sustainable M&A Transactions

LinkedIn
Any business with a problem or a desire to look to the future and improve what they do and how they do it.
With 35 years of business experience I have been involved in lots of the issues businesses will face. Whether that is from an accountancy or corporate finance position or whether that is a commercial issue facing the business, I bring practical commercial advice.
I am very much a generalist but I do have particular expertise in Food & Drink, Hotels & Hospitality and Property.
Graeme Finnie was for 12 years the Managing Partner of French Duncan LLP before it became part of AAB in 2023. Now, as the Managing Partner of the Glasgow & Stirling offices of AAB, Graeme is focussed on ensuring that the AAB business continues to grow across the Central Belt and to deliver the quality of service for which the business is already known.
In addition to his role as Managing Partner, Graeme also has responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships with many of AAB’s largest Central Belt clients. He is involved in ensuring that service delivery meets these clients expectations.
Graeme also loves to get involved in providing strategic and commercial advice to clients of all sizes. This is one of the areas of business he adds most value.
“For some of our clients we just provide compliance services as and when required. These relationships tend to be very transactional but despite this we always endeavour to provide an efficient and timely service which delivers exactly what the client wants. However, the best and most rewarding relations – for all parties – are those where we get close to the client and develop a very detailed understanding of their business. While this involves and investment of time by both ourselves and the client, the detailed understanding of the client, their business and their aspirations which we develop, allows us to provide them with bespoke advice which is tailored exactly to their business and its needs. Its also just much more fun to develop strong relationship and to make a genuine difference to clients.”
“I have been in business for over 30 years. During that time I have had a varied and interesting career and I have been the Managing Director/ Partner of three completely different businesses. Given this background, I feel that I am able to properly understand business issues and offer a sensible perspective to clients. Likewise I really enjoy helping and mentoring staff so that they can realise their full potential and not repeat the many mistakes that I made.
Perhaps sadly, my work is my hobby and being part of AAB allows me to practice my hobby on a bigger scale!”
