“COLLABORATION IS OUR SUPERPOWER; THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN AUDIT WHERE YOU WORK ALONE.”

Cleth Svatos is a Manager in our Audit team who has vast experience in providing audit and assurance services across various sectors. Her main responsibility includes the delivery of quality outputs to clients, such as assurance reports for financial information which is meaningful for external parties to rely on. Cleth manages workflow and resources to ensure that the right people are in the right place at the right time to deliver the highest quality work for clients.

Cleth is the key contact for many clients and always strives to ensure that she provides them with good communication and a good experience throughout the audit. She also takes the time to share her technical expertise with the wider Audit team through coaching and training.

AN OPEN LINE OF COMMUNICATION

“An ideal relationship with a client for me is one where there is an open, two-way line of communication between the client and us. Clients expect us to provide an efficient and quality audit service within the agreed-upon time. They look to us to help ensure they are compliant with their statutory requirements, as well as providing them with best practice recommendations based on our findings and our expertise.”

DELIVERING QUALITY WORK

“For me, the most satisfying aspect of the job is being able to deliver quality work at the right time. Getting acknowledgment from the client that they’re really pleased with the service provided is a great feeling.

Helping the team to grow and expand their knowledge by using the benefit of my experience, and watching the trainees develop from the training and guidance provided by me is also amazing, and a huge part of what makes this work so fulfilling.”

A COMBINATION OF COMMUNICATION METHODS

“AAB Group is a tech-enabled business, and it’s fantastic to have different options for communicating with clients. Ways of communicating with clients vary on a case-by-case basis. Some prefer to work remotely, while others feel more confident interacting with and seeing us in person. For me, I prefer a combination. There are some complex matters and discussions which are better resolved when done face to face. Then sometimes it makes more sense to share information that is straightforward or voluminous and stored in digital form to be shared and analysed virtually, and in the client’s own time.”

‘COLLABORATION IS OUR SUPERPOWER’

“There has never been an audit where you work alone. It is a collaboration of people with a variety of experience and expertise who work together to achieve a common goal of providing excellent service to the client. Everyone supports each other and each person has an important role to play. That is why I always want to make junior team member feel the ownership of their job and at the same time ensure that there is enough involvement of the most senior team member.”

THE IMPORTANCE OF EMPATHY

“The greatest strengths I bring to AAB are my technical skills, both in accounting and auditing, and my leadership skills. I have a great ability to empathise with others, which is a key part of what makes me such a good leader.”

PERSISTENCE IN THE FACE OF CHALLENGES

“The greatest compliment a client has paid me is probably that they said they admired my persistence despite the odds and challenges of the audit. Another client also acknowledged that I never allow a problem to weigh me down, and that I am always smiling!”
