“THE ADVISOR THEY CALL.”

Chris Masson is Audit & Business Advisory Services Partner. He specialises in giving both financial and commercial advice to a wide range of businesses.

Based in our Aberdeen office, Chris works extensively on supporting and building strong relationships with his clients to become the advisor they call when they need help and advice.

Chris can advise you on a wide range of areas, both financial and commercial including audit, strategic advice, cashflow, financing and business growth.

BEING A SOUNDING BOARD

“I’m there for my clients as an advisor and sounding board for all their business needs. The key for me is having a strong and open relationship with a client, where they feel they can pick up the phone and call me to discuss any area of their business, not just their financials.

I’m there to give support and advice across all my clients business needs. That’s not to say I have the answer to everything, but I will know someone in AAB or beyond that will be able to help, whatever their challenge or question.”

GOING THE EXTRA MILE

“I always prioritise my client’s needs and deadlines and I very much believe in going the extra mile for them. I strive to be more involved, to have more conversations and to be more responsive than maybe a client has experienced with other advisors.

My objective is to provide positive solutions and give my clients peace of mind. I’m always looking to add value to clients and save them time and money wherever possible. The most satisfaction for me is when I can deliver advice and help to get the outcome my client needs.”

REFLECTING ON GROWTH

“I joined AAB over 20 years ago and benefitted throughout my career from the wide range of experience and the variety of clients I’ve been able to work with. It’s great sometimes to sit back and reflect on how my client’s businesses have changed and grown whilst I’ve been supporting them.

My role is not just about the numbers, it’s far more about the people and the relationships I have with both my clients and the wider AAB team that support those clients alongside me. It really is a team effort.”

SUPPORTING OTHERS

“I really enjoy being able to coach and support others coming into the management team. Whether that’s just day to day guidance, more formal coaching sessions or just being there for them when they need someone to talk to. In my view there is no such thing as a stupid question, and I’m always willing to help and answer any question that someone wants to ask me.

It’s great to see managers taking on more responsibility and building their own relationships with our clients. There’s a lot of satisfaction in watching them develop their skills. Even with new technology, our role will always be the ability to ask the right questions, communicate well and build strong relationships.”
