Samantha Downie is a Manager in our Payroll & Employment Taxes team. She works with a range of different clients; from Director-only payrolls across a variety of sectors, to payrolls with thousands of employees working and/or living across the word. Samantha works with the team to ensure that everyone is supported in delivering each and every payroll accurately and on time.

Payroll is always changing with HMRC bringing in new legislation and changes which means that we need to ensure that we are up to always date with any changes. From a personal perspective this keeps my role interesting. Another cliché but no two days are the same!”

“The tech-enabled side of the business allows us to provide an automated payroll system with less manual intervention for both the client and AAB which is essential due to payroll being an extremely emotive subject. This allows more time to have the conversations with clients to see if we can provide more solutions to streamlining any of their processes.
We need the technology to deliver, but we need the people to interact with our clients regularly. One of the best pieces of feedback I have received from a client is when they said that they forgot I had any other clients, as I always made them feel as though they were the only client that I had. Our clients are our number one priority, and they should always feel like they are.”
