Robbie is an exceptional project manager – ensuring that things are kept moving in line with stakeholder expectations, that any issues are resolved to the approval and satisfaction of everyone involved, and that his team have all the necessary skills and tools they need to deliver high quality work.

OPEN COMMUNICATION

“For me, the ideal relationship with a client would be one built on mutual trust, respect and, openness. I really enjoy building longstanding relationships with my clients, where they know that I will support them with their unique needs and requirements. Building and maintaining strong relationships allows for healthy and robust challenge when required, which ultimately adds value to my clients’ businesses.”

UNDERSTANDING CLIENTS’ SPECIFIC NEEDS

“Clients expect a commitment to delivery and clear, concise communication. They expect someone who is going to understand their specific needs and problems and help them work through them.”

COLLABORATING TO FIND A SOLUTION

“For me, the most satisfying aspect of my job is delivering a project on time to a happy client that feels like they have received a high-quality  and value-adding service. I also really enjoy working through technically complicated accounting questions, and arriving at a mutually agreed upon position.”

NOT BEING AFRAID TO CHALLENGE & BE ASSERTIVE

“I’m not afraid to challenge clients on a position they’ve taken, and I think they would expect that of me as their auditor. If issues arise on a project, I don’t let them become obstacles or slow down the process, I will roll my sleeves up and get stuck in. Sometimes, when dealing with multiple stakeholders on a project, there can naturally be different perspectives, and being able to bring everyone together is key.”

COMBINING TECHNOLOGY WITH ON-SITE PRESENCE

“Ideally, I like to spend time with my clients working with them face to face. However, there are benefits to using new, collaborative technologies too. In my opinion, utilising a combination of on-site presence with tech-enabled project management provides the best experience for my clients.”

DEALING WITH CHALLENGES

“The greatest challenge in my area of work is managing multiple stakeholders, and project timelines. I respond to these challenges by employing my excellent project management skills, as well as my absolute commitment to delivery.”

GROWING ALONGSIDE THE GROUP

“I am excited to continue career in audit and assurance and grow with the AAB Group. There are plenty of exciting areas of development, such as ESG, that I’m excited to be a part of.”

TRUST & TRANSPARENCY

“Of the AAB Group values, the most important one to me is that ‘we respect and trust each other’, and I think this links back with what I value in a client relationship: mutual trust, respect, and openness.”

EXCEPTIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT

“I would say that the greatest strength that I bring to AAB Group is exceptional project management; this includes organisation, technical knowledge of complex auditing and accounting matters, business acumen, stakeholder management, and building / maintaining relationships. Being able to understand the unique needs and deliverables of each person and entity involved – as well as how they interact with each other – is crucial.”

‘THE BEST THEY’D EVER SEEN’

“I was once told by a client that I had delivered the best audit process that they’d ever seen, and this was an experienced group financial controller, so I’d say that’s one of the greatest compliments I’ve ever received.”
