Meet the People team
SMEs. Medium-sized corporates.
Identifying opportunities. Collaborating with key stakeholders. Supporting internal teams.
Myles Elder is a Commercial Manager based in our London office. His role is to work alongside the commercial director and execute our sales strategy.
How does he do it? By identifying live opportunities with existing clients and prospective ones. Myles partners with them to explain our services and the benefits this will have for them. He then collaborates with the wider team to support opportunities, pitch to stakeholders and finalise bringing clients on board.
“It’s important that I take the time to understand my clients’ businesses. We’re in a fortunate position here at AAB People, we work with some amazing market leaders and innovative companies. Who are so excited to not only work alongside but also grow alongside. However, the most interesting thing all our clients have in common is how different they are. Even when they’re in the same industry some things set them apart. Each client has ambitions that drive me to ensure we provide the best service possible.
Those differentiators are key to understanding their goals and the challenges they face. When I have that understanding I can truly help them, matching their challenges with services that will support them in overcoming challenges and achieving success. Having a hand in reducing the pain and stress they might be under is so rewarding. I believe that’s what differentiates us from everyone else. We’re able to provide reactive advice and support and pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality service that’s about quality over quantity.”
“Being flexible is the best way to be especially in my role. Having a flexible approach allows me to adapt to the client’s needs. As I cover a large area it enables me to meet with clients no matter easily and effectively where they are which in turn saves them time and keeps our communication efficient. On the flip side, if a client wants me to meet them face-to-face, I can do that too. Whether we’re conversing through a screen or meeting in person, we’ll defer to the preference of our clients.”
“I’ve joined the business at a really exciting time, we’re starting to expand into new locations and that brings an exciting opportunity for us to partner with businesses and organisations across London and the southeast. I’m excited to play a part in making AAB People a well-known name and business here and delivering our services to more market-leading organisations.”
“My job would not be possible without the amazing colleagues I work alongside. I work with really talented individuals who all pride themselves on aiming to add value to each client relationship. I often say to my clients that we will be an extension of their team- by that, I don’t just mean me or the AAB People team, I mean the whole AAB group. If a client has a question that I can’t answer, there’s no shortage of people I can turn to help me out. Even better? Everyone is willing to help because we are all passionate about helping our clients.”
“I believe my greatest strengths that I bring to AAB are my fun and positive energy and my consultative approach to solving problems. One of the greatest compliments I received from a client was ‘You’ve reignited the passion I have for what I do, and you’ve reminded me why I set up my business.”
“Working in HR one thing that’s always constant is change- there’s constantly new updates in the law and that means as we’re advising clients on the law that we need to keep up to date with any changes that might be coming into force. While there’s an element of challenge to this that we’re constantly being fed different information it’s also a great opportunity. It’s an opportunity to provide clients with peace of mind that we’re keeping up to date with changes and we’ll ensure they’re compliant so that they don’t have to do it themselves.”
