ESG Diligence: The Key To Sustainable M&A Transactions
AAB / Our Team / Murray Foggo
Meet the Corporate Finance team
Owner-managed businesses. SMEs. Large organisations. Charities.
Valuations. Due diligence. M&A. Grant certification. Funding advice.
Technology. Construction & property. Public Sector. Not-for-profit. Industrial.
Murray Foggo is a Corporate Finance Assistant Manager based in Glasgow. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), business valuations, financial due diligence, and funding support. Additionally, Murray assists with the grant certification work for our clients who have had grant funding from a number of funding providers and seek an Accountant’s Report.
Murray’s experience spans various industries, including technology, construction, waste management, care, and automotive, allowing him to tailor his approach to meet each sector’s unique needs.
“An ideal client relationship involves clear communication from both sides. It’s about setting expectations—whether that’s the information we require or the deadlines we’ve agreed on. Clients expect work to be delivered on time and to a standard that impresses, and that’s what we strive to achieve.
I enjoy providing clients with the ‘value-add’ offering that makes a difference to their business. Whether it’s supporting them through a challenging process or learning more about their sector and operations, the relationship we build along the way is equally rewarding. In addition, part of our role is to support our client, whether that is doing some heavy lifting to allow them to concentrate on their day job, or providing expert advice, and both of these elements help build a strong client relationship.”
“The balance between virtual and hands-on interaction is key to getting the best results for clients. Virtual work often allows for deeper analysis and efficient communication, while hands-on engagement helps us better understand a client’s unique needs and challenges. I enjoy both aspects equally, as they complement each other to deliver the best outcomes.
When it comes to problem-solving, particularly in M&A, our role is to alleviate pressure and guide clients through what can often be a once-in-a-lifetime process. It’s incredibly rewarding to help business owners feel confident in their decisions, knowing they’ve received the right advice.”
“Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. In corporate finance, no two projects are the same, and we rely on our collective expertise to tackle challenges and deliver exceptional results. I’ve been lucky to work with colleagues who are not only talented but also supportive and willing to share their knowledge.
One of the things I value most about our team dynamic is the way we collaborate to overcome challenges. Everyone brings something different to the table, and by pooling our skills and experience, we can find innovative solutions and exceed client expectations. I’ve learned so much from working with others, particularly now that our team has grown to span across 5 different regions, and it’s a privilege to be part of a team that’s focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
“AAB’s growth journey is exciting, offering opportunities for personal and professional development. Being part of a team that’s contributing to the firm’s expansion feels like an achievement. As previously touched on, our team has grown drastically which has opened many more doors to learn from different leaders, and open doors to new opportunities.
I’ve been given the independence to approach assignments in my own way, while also benefiting from the guidance of senior colleagues who enhance the final delivery. This balance between autonomy and collaboration creates a great learning environment.
I’m proud of the teamwork skills I bring to AAB, particularly my ability to delegate tasks effectively and support colleagues in their own development. Helping others learn and grow is something I value in our team dynamic.”
