Moira Holmes is a Group Shared Services Manager based in our Glasgow office. 
Managing a team of over 20 professionals across Scotland and Ireland, she oversees 
the timely payment of suppliers and the collection of revenue from client invoices. Her 
role helps AAB to run efficiently and effectively. 
Moira and her team provide a vital service in support of AAB’s financial infrastructure. In 
her role, collaboration really is key as she needs to have strong relationships with our 
internal team across all levels and business units. As a manager, Moira supports the 
development of her team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, knowledge and 
support to succeed in their roles. Seeing team members grow in confidence and step up 
into new opportunities is something that makes her proud.

For instance, technological transformations have given us the ability to deliver services
with speed and precision, but there is no substitute for face-to-face. Clients and
internal relationships sit at the heart of everything we do. The tools are there to enhance
our work, but human interaction is really what drives our success.”

Bring structure to complexity

“A challenge that we often come across is managing complexity across multiple legal
entities. We’re constantly working to standardise processes and incorporate newly
acquired businesses into the same standard model. It’s not always easy, but I have a
structured mindset and a clear focus on the end goal.”
