Lyndsey is a Senior Manager in our Private Client Tax team, working with individuals based in the UK and also those with an international footprint.
Based in our Aberdeen office, Lyndsey works with individuals and families to advise them on all aspects of UK personal tax, making sure they have the most efficient structure possible whilst having the flexibility to change as life takes its twists and turns.
“I really appreciate that my clients trust me with their sensitive and personal information, which in turn this allows me to give a tailored and bespoke service to them that meets their needs. This leads to a more personal relationship being built, more so than in other services.
This is especially the case when you start working with someone when they are still planning the next step and haven’t quite taken the leap yet. I discuss all the options with them and get them to that point where they know they are ready and everything is sorted for them. Its really rewarding to be able to give that peace of mind and know you have made a real impact.”
“What I love about working in the private client tax team is that we are a team of specialists. This means we can support our clients no matter what their needs. I also work with a lot of families and owner managed businesses, so its good to collaborate with the corporate tax and business advisory teams across the group.
Being surrounded by such experts is inspiring. I’ve learnt so much from the team around me and they are supportive in helping me develop my knowledge. They are also very forward thinking. The offerings we have for clients are tech-enabled, which makes it easier for both me and the client. That being said, I do also love a face-to-face meeting when possible!”
“The biggest challenge in my role is the ever-changing legislation. I always need to be on top of it, assessing how changes might impact my clients and also even trying to pre-empt the changes so I can be as prepared as possible.
I say it is a challenge, but the changes keep things interesting and I enjoy the continued learning this brings to my career. This can be said for wider market changes, we are seeing a huge rise in cryptocurrency and crypto assets, so that is a really exciting opportunity for us as a team to keep on top of.”
“Everyone brings their own strengths to the team. I would say that my greatest strength is that I am very analytical and methodical. We get a lot of information coming in, and I take time and enjoy analysing and processing this information. This means I get back to clients quickly, which they appreciate!”
