Meet the Private Client team
High Net Worth Individuals. Sole Traders. Partnerships.
Annual Compliance. Tax Returns. Tax Planning. P11Ds.
Business Services. Professional Services.
Kerry McGee is a Manager in our Private Client team. Whilst based in our Glasgow office, Kerry works with the private client team across our offices and her clients are based across the UK. She helps individuals including (sole traders and high net worth individuals) and also partnerships with their tax affairs. This support can range from annual compliance and helping with the completion of tax returns to assisting with general queries that arise throughout the year.
Kerry also works with clients who are looking for advice on their tax affairs including the tax effect of financial decisions and how this will impact their current and future liabilities.
“Clients are putting their faith in you as their advisor, trusting you with very personal information and it is important that we are there for them, providing a good service and leaving them assured that their information is in good hands. Part of our role is to make sure that clients feel comfortable discussing their financial affairs, this not only enables us to see the bigger picture when providing them with advice, but it means that we can build that ideal relationship built on trust and mutual understanding.”
“Clients expect good service from their advisors and this can come in many ways. This can be through being pro-active with advice, providing them with a quick response to queries or simply being there for them when they have a query no matter how big or small. The most satisfying aspect of working with clients is meeting people from all different walks of life, from different industries and different countries. I’m a people person and like building good relationships with my clients, and want them to always know that I am contactable and not only there for them once a year! and not someone they only see once a year!”
“Something I pride myself on is that I am proactive in looking for new ways to do things, being open to change and keeping up to date with changes in tax. I am proactive in looking for new ways to do things and, always hoping to find something that what will work well for our clients and our team.
The legislation surrounding tax is always changing and it can be challenging to keep on top of this and ensure that with any changes any advice that was previously put in place for a client remains to be the best position for them. We have to must be proactive when reviewing these changes and our client base to make sure we know who could be impacted and how we can help if they are. The clients always appreciate that we are thinking of them and their interests which in turn strengthens our relationship with them.”
“I firmly believe that clients are more than just clients and you build close relationships with them over time. I do pride myself on my approach to client service and taking the time to ensure clients aren’t overwhelmed by the information we need to share with them. Clients often compliment me on my ability to explain their tax position to them in a clear, concise way. It’s even better when they recognise that you have a genuine interest in your specialist area and that you want to use that knowledge to help them.”
