Based in London, Ian Brannan is a Senior Consultant within our dedicated Global Employment Taxes team. Ian works with companies that are either looking to move their people overseas or bring them to work in the UK. Ian’s clients include many different kinds of business, working across a variety of sectors. Whether it’s a large organisation with a very established global mobility programme, or a business relocating their team for the first time, Ian is passionate about helping them navigate all the implications of doing that.
“In my experience, the strongest client relationships are built when they are based on trust, and fuelled by clear, open communication. The ideal relationships with clients are also ones in which clients view you not as an external figure, but as an integral part of their team.
We are proud to be able to provide such a crucial service for our clients, so it’s particularly gratifying that our clients feel confident enough in our relationship that we are their primary point of contact when it comes to all things global mobility issues. This is true regardless of whether it’s a small query, or a request for help on larger projects – we’re here to help with anything for which they may need support.”
“One of the great things about being part of such a supportive wider team within AAB is that we are able to offer organisations end-to-end service should they seek it. It’s exciting to be a part of a team that not only has such a wide variety and depth of expertise, but is also continually growing and going from strength to strength – just like our clients.
It also means that if a client comes to me with a query that I might not be able to answer straight away, I know that there will be an expert within our team with the right pool of knowledge and experience to be able to answer it.”
“When organisations’ growth extends across borders and across the globe, all the various tax, immigration and employment laws can be triggered. It’s a complex area, with things updates and changes occurring regularly in different countries. To ensure that we stay ahead of the game, we frequently monitor these changes, and keep strong communications going both within the team and with our advisors. Then we are able to effectively apply this knowledge to each of our clients’ unique needs and situations.”
“Due to the nature of working with organisations from across the UK and the wider globe, virtual communication is key to what we do. It allows us to ensure our clients are fully in the loop, and enables us to develop strong relationships and build trust without necessarily needing to meet face-to-face. The flexibility and efficiency that virtual communication brings is hugely beneficial for us and our clients.”
