Making Tax Less Taxing

“For me, being a trusted advisor is about more than just delivering solutions—it’s about becoming an extension of the client’s team. I want my clients to feel like they can pick up the phone any time, no hesitation, and know I’m here to help. Most businesses don’t have in-house expertise in all areas of tax, especially the more specialised technical aspects, so stepping in as their go-to person is where I add real value. Whether it’s providing a quick sense check or tackling a complex technical issue, I want my clients to feel supported and confident.”

Breaking Down Complexity

“I love solving difficult problems and demystifying tax for my clients. International tax is a minefield—it’s complicated, ever-changing, and can feel overwhelming. Being able to lift that burden and give clients the clarity they need is what makes my role so rewarding.

It’s not just about solving problems for clients, though. Watching my team grow and develop their own expertise is incredibly fulfilling. So much of being a trusted tax advisor comes from hands-on experience, and it’s fantastic to see team members take the lead and shine in meetings. Knowing I’ve helped them build their confidence and skills is a proud moment for me.”

The Future of Tax is Digital

“There are so many exciting opportunities to transform the way we work with clients by embracing technology. AI-powered tools, in particular, are a game-changer. They allow us to work smarter, cutting out cumbersome manual processes so we can focus on what really matters—adding value for our clients. The potential to collaborate more efficiently and deliver faster, sharper insights is incredible, and I can’t wait to see how we can use these tools to evolve our services.”

Rising to the Challenge

“One of the biggest challenges in international tax is keeping up with the pace of change. Legislation is constantly evolving, and staying on top of it all can be daunting. But that’s where collaboration comes in. Working alongside talented, technically brilliant colleagues means there’s always someone to share insights with. It’s a real team effort, and it ensures we’re always bringing the best of the firm’s collective knowledge to our clients.

Being part of a global network is another huge advantage. If I need to understand a tax issue in another country, I can call on trusted advisors across the group. It’s reassuring for me and for my clients to know we have that reach.”

Collaboration at the Core

“As a specialist, I love being part of a firm that places such a strong emphasis on collaboration. Working in diverse teams, where everyone brings something unique to the table, always leads to better solutions for our clients. It’s that mix of perspectives and experiences that makes all the difference.”

Tax, but Not as You Know It

“Corporate tax often gets a bad rap—it’s seen as dry or even boring. But nothing could be further from the truth. Tax is often business-critical. Getting it wrong can have huge financial implications, and many tax issues are time-sensitive, meaning they need to be resolved before a business can move forward with new plans. Helping clients get it right the first time and showing them the value a trusted advisor can bring is what I strive for. There’s nothing more satisfying than helping a client overcome a roadblock and seeing them move forward with confidence.”
