“SHAPING OUR SUPPORT FOR YOUR NEEDS.”

Claudia Zwirn is a Global Employment Tax Director based in London. She specialises in global mobility and employment tax, supporting businesses of all sizes with their internationally mobile employees and ensuring they remain compliant with employer responsibilities in the UK and overseas. With over 15 years of experience, both in practice and in-house, Claudia understands the challenges organisations face when balancing compliance, operational needs, and cost management.

In addition to advising businesses, Claudia also works directly with senior executives and private clients, helping them navigate the complexities of international tax, payroll, and social security. Her role is to simplify the process, ensuring individuals and their families understand their tax obligations while minimising stress and uncertainty.

MAKING COMPLEXITY SIMPLE FOR CLIENTS

“For me, it’s all about relationships. I find it incredibly satisfying when a client comes to us with a complex issue that initially feels overwhelming, and I can help break it down, find a workable solution, and guide them through implementation. Knowing that we’ve solved a problem and made someone’s job easier is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.

Businesses don’t operate in a vacuum—there are competing deadlines, changing priorities, and budget constraints to consider. That’s why I focus on providing solutions that are not only compliant but also practical and feasible to implement.”

CHALLENGING THE STATUS QUO TO DRIVE BETTER SOLUTIONS

“I love AAB’s focus on making things simpler for our clients. Compliance is important—there’s no question about that—but I don’t believe it should come with overly complex, rigid processes or unnecessarily high costs.

AAB’s ability to adapt, develop new solutions, and service businesses of all sizes aligns closely with my own approach. I believe in shaping our support to meet the client’s needs, rather than forcing a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. If something isn’t working, I’ll challenge it and find a better way.”

BALANCING TECHNOLOGY WITH A HANDS-ON APPROACH

“Technology has transformed global mobility and employment tax, making processes more efficient and providing better data insights. But at the end of the day, technology is only as good as the people using it. That’s why I focus on understanding my clients’ needs first—so that any tech solutions we implement actually bring value, rather than just adding another layer of complexity.

For me, technology should enhance relationships, not replace them. Automation is great for reducing admin, but it doesn’t replace the conversations needed to build trust, explain complex tax matters, and develop tailored solutions. That’s why I take a hybrid approach, using technology where it makes sense but ensuring that personal, hands-on advice remains at the core of what we do.”

STAYING AHEAD IN A FAST-CHANGING LANDSCAPE

“The rules around global mobility and employment tax are constantly evolving. Keeping up with changes is a huge part of my role—understanding the implications, identifying which clients will be affected, and providing the right advice at the right time.

For many businesses, staying compliant can feel like trying to hit a moving target. That’s where we come in—not only keeping them informed of what’s changing but helping them focus on what really matters. With so much information out there, it’s easy for businesses to lose sight of their biggest risks, so we help them prioritise and take the right actions.”

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

“It’s exciting to be part of a business that’s growing rapidly and making a real impact in the market. I’m looking forward to expanding the ways we support our clients, developing new solutions, and continuing to grow our team. There’s a huge opportunity to leverage the strong relationship between our global tax and payroll offerings, particularly in serving UK and US clients.

On a personal level, joining AAB has been a new challenge for me, as I’ve spent most of my career in more established, mature businesses. Being part of such an entrepreneurial, fast-moving culture is a fantastic opportunity, and I’m excited to see how we evolve in the coming years.”

THE POWER OF COLLABORATION

“My favourite part of working with colleagues is sharing ideas and solving problems together. I thrive in a collaborative environment where I can bounce ideas off others and bring in different perspectives to develop the best solutions.

I also love mentoring and training team members, seeing them grow and take on more responsibility. It’s incredibly rewarding to play a role in someone’s development and see them progress in their career. At AAB, collaboration isn’t just a value—it’s embedded in how we work every day.”

BRINGING CLARITY TO COMPLEX ISSUES

“One of the greatest compliments I’ve received was from a client who was genuinely shocked when I told him I was moving on to a new role. We had spent months setting up a complex new process for a senior executive, and he told me he didn’t know how he would manage without me. It was a real testament to the value of working in partnership with clients and the impact that strong, trusted relationships can have.”
