“WE POSSESS A PROVEN ABILITY TO GENERATE INNOVATIVE IDEAS & SOLUTIONS TO OUR CLIENTS’ PROBLEMS TAILORED TO THEIR UNIQUE NEEDS.”

Catherine McKeown is a Restructuring and Recovery Assistant Manager based in our Belfast office. Catherine assists AAB’s licensed Insolvency Practitioners to provide bespoke solutions, rescuing companies across the UK and Ireland that are either in financial distress, under significant pressure, or facing an uncertain future.

Having obtained the ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency qualification, Catherine supports the daily functions of the Insolvency Practitioners on all solvent and insolvent corporate cases. Her role is varied and involves administering the case from the initial discussion with the client, ensuring the insolvency process is followed correctly, processing data, investigating the company’s financial affairs, negotiating with third parties, and supporting creditors to recover debts.

Each one of our clients is unique & has distinct needs and wants

“At AAB, we pride ourselves on providing the best possible solutions to the challenges our clients face. We appreciate that they are often experiencing difficulties and we always listen with full focus. It is only when we can identify the client’s pain points that we can provide a prompt and effective solution. Equally importantly, I also try my best to ask the right questions to really understand what our client needs.

Each of our clients is unique and has distinct needs and wants, so it’s important that we look at each case from every angle possible to focus on getting the best outcome. I’m passionate about making myself available for our clients and try to make their lives easier by providing prompt, relevant advice and addressing any queries that they might have at any time.”

Dedicated to problem-solving

“We appreciate that facing financial difficulty can be highly stressful. Being able to use our problem-solving skills and experience to assist our clients in returning to financial health help gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Companies in distress can be rest assured we will provide them peace of mind and be there for them in every step of the journey, including the after service.

We strive to put our clients first, and building strong relationships with them is paramount. Being honest with each other when building those relationships is vital – without honesty gaining mutual trust and respect is impossible. As part of the Restructuring and Recovery team, I love that I get to be a trouble-shooter, dealmaker and detective all at once.”

Demonstrating trust, positivity & enthusiasm

“We nurture a culture of positivity at AAB. I love that within the team we demonstrate trust, passion and enthusiasm. Whilst insolvency can often be perceived as something negative, collectively as a team, we possess a proven ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions to our clients’ problems tailored to their unique needs. We work with pride and are passionate about understanding a client’s business and using that knowledge to find the right solutions to ensure the best outcomes for them.

Over the past few years AAB has experienced tremendous growth and I have confidence that the future is looking bright. Personally, I’m really excited for the learning opportunities that lie ahead to further develop my own skill set and being able to work on larger solvent and insolvent corporate cases across the UK and Ireland. I also feel that it’ll be an interesting journey for me to gain exposure to different specialisms as we continue to expand the firm’s service offerings and tap into new exciting markets.”
