ESG Diligence: The Key To Sustainable M&A Transactions
AAB / Our Team / Adrian Gill
Meet the Private Client team
Retirees. High net worth individuals. Landlords. Trusts.
Income Tax. Capital Gains Tax. Tax Planning. Inheritance Tax and Wills.
Adrian Gill is a Manager within our Private Client team. Mostly working with individuals who are either retired, of high net-worth, or landlords as stand-alone clients, Adrian also works with many directors and shareholders of companies of varying sizes.
He also deals with a number of Trusts that are connected to his clients, as well as repayment claims of the children beneficially entitled under these Trusts. Dealing with clients regularly for both income tax and capital gains tax allows Adrian to discuss and consider with them some tax planning in a variety of areas such as Inheritance Tax and Wills.
“I would like to think that my ideal relationship with a client would involve regular contact through meetings in person or simply through regular telephone calls, as a way of getting to know the family as a whole so that advice can be given with a better knowledge of their personal situation as well as their business position.”
“I have been with the firm for over 25 years and have grown up with most of my clients, looking upon each other almost as friends, not just business assets, which can help with many conversations. We’ve gotten to know each other well over the years, and I genuinely care about them and what happens to them.”
“My clients expect me to be able to help them with any questions they have either directly or by pointing them to one of our specialists in the area they are looking at. Advising on tax mitigation is a vital part of the role.”
“Many of my clients are elderly, so a split between technology and old-fashioned ways is important, as is knowing my clients well to enough to know which client falls into which bracket. Having said that, technology is always changing and moving forward so fast, so even the die-hard non-computer literates are having to get involved. Helping them through this challenging change in a friendly environment is quite rewarding.”
“I find that the most satisfying element of my job is dealing with an individual’s tax affairs and being able to put their mind at rest that their affairs are correct and up to date, especially the older generation who seem to be more concerned about being chased by the tax inspectors, they are always very grateful which really uplifts my day. This is all linked in with the AAB value of “Clients are our Passion” as without clients we wouldn’t exist.”
“Within the office, it is great to be able to help and advise the newer team members, not particularly on a technical level, they already have that, but on pure experience of how to deal with different situations, no two of which are ever the same.”
