Our Client
A shipping company where AAB have been engaged as Corporate Finance advisors for nearly 10 years. Over that period, we have supported the company’s growth from start up to a business turning over around £15m. The key challenges have been ensuring the appropriate funding structure for the business to support its growth which required a mixture of equity, bank debt and mezzanine debt from several sources as it grew.
Our Approach
- Produced annual forecasts for each year based on the 12-month trading budgets then utilise our forecasting model to produce full P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet forecasts
- These forecasts cover a 1-, 3- and 10-year period to show short-, medium- and long-term outlook for the business, allowing management to look at the expected cashflows of the business and plan for this accordingly
- These forecasts also allow ongoing monitoring of performance against budget in a variety of key areas including debtor and creditor controls
- AAB has assisted the business with five separate fundraising processes as it has expanded. Our Corporate Finance team have introduced debt providers, reviewed the debt structure and requirements at each stage and worked alongside the company’s legal advisors to execute each fundraising process
The Outcome
- Access to a dedicated finance team with a wide range of experience that has supported the client in the growth of the business
- AAB’s corporate finance team has worked closely with our business advisory and corporate tax teams to provide a complete service to the client, from monthly management accounts preparation to complex tax advice including international tax in the regions the company has expanded into
