SECTORS/SUPPORT

Individuals from a wide range of sectors.

“OUR TEAM HAS THE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & FACILITIES TO CHANGE LIVES – THAT’S WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO.”

Rachel McGivern is an Assistant Manager in FPM’s Restructuring & Recovery team. Her main responsibilities involve a combination of meeting statutory deadlines and providing thorough and dedicated help and assistance to clients. In her role, she helps to analyse her clients’ current financial situations and then pursues appropriate outcomes for the clients and their creditors.

Rachel guides clients from the initial consultation right through every aspect of the arrangement until a successful completion is attained – she’s there every step of the way. Individual Voluntary Arrangements are her specialty; they allow clients to take control of their finances, but the process can last five years, so a strong relationship must be established with the clients and creditors.

HERE TO HELP

“My ideal relationship is based on open and honest communication. I am here to help; once I have all the information, I can always find a solution. It’s vital that clients trust me and are prepared to give me the full story of their financial situation.

Of course, my clients expect answers and solutions, but they also deserve knowledge, time, empathy, and trust. All of which I give to my clients.”

GIVING CLIENTS A NEW START

“In my job, I can make a real difference to a client’s life, and I thrive on this. I love nothing more than successfully completing an arrangement and giving my client a new start.”

A GENUINELY SUPPORTIVE TEAM

“All of my close colleagues have masses of knowledge and expertise in restructuring and recovery and are on hand at any time to help – with our team, there really are no stupid questions! Everyone is genuinely supportive and helpful. I consider myself lucky – it really is the most wonderful team to be a part of.”

BEING SURROUNDED BY LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE

“I feel I fit right in at AAB! I am passionate about my role, my goals, and my clients. AAB encourages me to continue to be like this by providing an environment filled with like-minded people.”

HAVING THE TOOLS & SUPPORT TO BE THERE

“My current role enables me to provide what my client needs and that’s what balance is for me: knowing that I have the tools and support to be there in whatever capacity my client requires. And if I need additional support, I know it’s only an email or phone call away.”

ADAPTING TO CHALLENGES

“The economy is currently posing a massive challenge in my area of expertise. Clients experiencing financial difficulties are working to such tight margins that a slight shift in the cost of living can have a massive impact on their disposable income and can change the trajectory of their arrangement. To try and mitigate this, once we are aware of an issue we always do our best to amend and adapt accordingly.”

AN EXCITING TIME

“It’s a really exciting time at AAB Group at the moment – the possibilities really do feel endless when it comes to opportunities for my and my team’s development. The growth journey that AAB Group is on makes it a really interesting experience too, from the new business developments to getting to work with new colleagues.”

ALLOWING CLIENTS TO SLEEP AT NIGHT

“One of the AAB Group values is that ‘clients are our passion’, and this particular core value feels like it was written for me and my team. Our work allows our clients to sleep at night. Together, our team has the knowledge, ability, and facilities to change lives – and that’s why we do what we do.”

DOING WHATEVER I CAN

“The greatest strength I bring to AAB Group is that I genuinely care about my clients; I will do whatever I can to resolve their issues. I am also open and honest, and I’ll always make time for a call.”

MAKING LIFE FEEL WORTH LIVING AGAIN

“One of the best compliments I ever received was from a client who said, (and this is a direct quote): “You are all so amazing and you’ve made my life worth living, Rachel is my Angel.”

Being able to help clients in the way that we do is a genuine privilege, and it’s an added bonus when the positive impact we can have is recognised.”

KNOWING THAT WE’VE HELPED

“Restructuring & Recovery is sometimes referred to as the “grim reaper of accounting”, but behind every business restructure, and every completed voluntary arrangement, we know that we have helped, and we’re able to get quiet satisfaction from this. We’re in this area because we want to help our clients.”
