    How we can help

THE DEDICATED SUPPORT OF MOTIVATED EXPERTS

During many years of working with Not for Profit organisations, we’ve accrued valuable knowledge of how they work, their goals and their concerns. This experience is ready to help you, as you strive to play your part in building a better and fairer world.

Our support covers not only your daily operations but also your long-term programmes to maintain and strengthen your services. With our skilled and motivated team, we can help you implement transformation programmes to structure for greater efficiencies and sustainable improvements. Whatever the size of your organisation and the challenges you face, we’ll work closely with you, advising on how you can maintain your objectives.

MAINTAINING EFFICIENCY AND CERTAINTY FOR YOUR CHARITY

With an environment where there are often reducing donations and government funding, set against increasing community demand, we help charities structure for cost-efficient operation, long-term financial security and to safeguard their charitable status.

Our specialist team will understand your needs and will share their knowledge of the latest rules and legislation, so you can always feel confident and prepared. You’ll have access to all our expertise on aspects such as:

  • Financial reporting and management information, providing valuable insights into your performance.
  • Comprehensive, value-adding audit and independent examination.
  • Meeting your compliance and regulatory responsibilities whilst minimising your tax bill across VAT, payroll and employment and corporate taxes.
  • Specialist training to help your team keep up to date with sector changes, address challenges and plan for the future.

PRACTICAL SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL HOUSING PROVIDERS

Tasked with providing suitable, safe accommodation for tenants and residents, whilst under increasing financial pressure and regulatory scrutiny, social housing providers have a difficult job – so we’re here to make it easier with our specialist support. Our experienced team works with Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and Registered Providers (RPs), on accounts and assurance, financial reporting, taxation, payroll and employment solutions, and tax investigations as well as strategic planning and advice.

With over 20 years working in the sector, we have a thorough understanding of the Housing SORP and a close knowledge of social housing providers, from single associations to large groups. We provide internal and external audits, assurance and advice, complemented by our Payroll & Employment Taxes team who help RSLs and RPs stay complaint while improving efficiency.  Our dedication to social housing providers is borne out by the volunteering of our team, many of whom hold RSL/RP board of management roles.

We deliver dedicated support to higher education and further education institutions and private providers, such as independent colleges, helping them address financial and regulatory issues and providing tailored accountancy services.

Our experts ensure your Board has the latest financial information to guide their decisions, enhance process efficiency and ensure compliance with tax laws and financial regulations. We also help with:

  • Virtual Finance Functions to handle your key processes and provide real time data.
  • External audits and internal audits to help you assess and enhance your systems.
  • Advice on minimising your tax bill across VAT, payroll and corporate taxes.

  • Since we established Exodun Trust we have worked with AAB to prepare our accounts and assist in the production of our annual report. We have a really good relationship with the team and find their professional approach warm, helpful and supportive.

    Meg Duncan, Exodun Charitable Trust

  • AAB has provided audit services to IFDAS since 2020. The audit team members are charity specialists, enabling them to advise IFDAS on new or complex areas and complete the audit efficiently.

Steven Donnachie, Independence From Drugs and Alcohol Scotland (River Garden Auchincruive)

  • GSA transitioned to AAB as audit and tax provider in 2022. We have been impressed with the quality of service and the approach of the whole team. The audit plan focussed on GSA’s risks and was delivered to our timetable. We would recommend AAB
