“I’m always learning, so I can add value.”

Solving problems

“I love working with clients. There’s nothing better than when you’re thought of as an extension of their in-house team. This allows for the sharing of ideas, problems, and opportunities. It also means we can work on these collaboratively. When I have this relationship with my clients, I’m able to provide them with proactive advice and a high-quality service. Meaning I’m able to provide honest, proactive, and helpful advice that’s tailored to their individual business goals.

I find being able to help clients achieve their goals satisfying. No matter what those goals are. Sometimes clients will come to me with difficult problems, and I have to come up with a solution. There’s nothing better than solving a problem for a client and the solution we’ve come up with adds value for them. It’s even better when I provide them with a solution that they never thought possible.”

Disrupting the status quo

“AAB is a firm that has done accounting differently for several years. From being a tech enabled business utilising the best and latest tech to creating a positive work culture that enables colleagues to have fun at work and places an importance on people to ensuring that clients receive an excellent service. That’s not your usual ethos of an accounting firm. That’s why AAB is different and that’s why I wanted to join. I believe that’s why AAB is where it is today because they carved out space for themselves and they continue to disrupt the status quo.”

No substitute for meeting in person

“I don’t believe there will ever be a substitute for the value that can be gained from in person meetings. They help us to build strong client relationships. That is not to say there’s no value in utilising technology. Technology helps us do what we do better. Being able to utilise technology and work virtually means we can have regular catch ups and quick communication with clients. It helps us to work around the timescales and availability of our clients who are busy. WE can implement cloud accounting software so clients can view data alongside us in real time. That helps us to provide advice based on the most up to date data figures.”

Always learning

“It’s so important to continue training. Maintaining up to date knowledge is key. Especially in a  world where tax codes and legislation are ever changing. I want to ensure that I’m able to give my clients the most up to date information and answer any questions they have about upcoming changes. That’s why I’m always learning, so I can add value.”

Extra mile

“AAB places such an emphasis on both client experience and colleague development and I think they go hand in hand. I believe that happy colleagues want to deliver for clients and helping colleagues to progress their careers makes them happy. They then want to go that extra mile because they’re valued in their roles.”

Growth journey

“The firm is constantly growing and evolving which provides a plethora of opportunities to get involved in. Knowing that this is only the beginning for me, and AAB makes me so excited for the future.”

Collaboration is our superpower

“At AAB we work collectively and cross-functionally. This means we’re always making use of the wide range of specialist skills within the firm. No matter what the issue there’s someone at AAB with the knowledge of experience that you need. Drawing on these skills helps us to enhance the client experience.”

Help clients achieve their goals

“It’s a common misconception in what we do that we’re all geeks who like working with numbers and that the job is very dull. You do have to be comfortable with numbers, but our main job first and foremost is to help clients achieve their goals. If all we did all day was sit at a desk and crunch numbers, we couldn’t help them achieve their goals.”
