WHO I HELP
All staff at AAB but primarily the AAB Leadership Team and the AAB Board.
HOW I HELP
Managing the KPIs across the group.
SECTORS/SUPPORT
Leadership of all departments and acquisitions.
“OPEN & HONEST COMMUNICATION MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.”
Frazer Deans is a Performance Accountant within AAB. Based in Aberdeen, Frazer’s primary responsibility is to collate, present, distribute and monitor the financial KPIs across the entire Group. He also works closely with the integration of acquired companies, ensuring they are reporting in line with the rest of the group while keeping the AAB Leadership Team up to date on their performance versus budget and prior periods.
GETTING TO KNOW PEOPLE
“I believe an ideal relationship is one that is more than professional, I think it’s important to get to know the people you work with on a personal level, as it can contribute to building a more honest and open team environment.”
MAKING PEOPLE’S LIVES EASIER
“I think, as with everyone, colleagues expect you to ‘do your part’, being proactive in everything you do and help wherever you can. It’s important to make peoples’ lives easier if you have that ability.”
OPEN COMMUNICATION
“For me, the most satisfying aspect of my work is 100% the open communication I get to develop with my colleagues, and getting to know everyone on a personal level.”
CONTRIBUTING THOUGHTS & OPINIONS
“Having joined AAB in October 2022, I have put my thoughts forward on different processes within the group, which I think is incredibly important and I would encourage everyone to do the same as you may have an idea that could revolutionize the way that we work, it’s just no one had thought of it before!”
BALANCE
I really enjoy working with colleagues both in a ‘hands-on’ way and virtually. Working in the office three days a week and at home for two days works perfectly for me. I get to interact, learn, and get to know my team more while in the office and when I’m working from home I try and focus on tasks that require no input from others, meaning it’s easier to get through them without distraction.”
ADAPTING BEHAVIOURS
“The greatest challenge I face in my work is being able to adapt behaviours on a constant basis depending on who I am speaking to or what I am delivering. To overcome this, I focus on one objective at a time, so each gets my full concentration.”
DEVELOPMENT & CHANGE
“I am very excited to see not only what my role will develop into but also to see how the group adapts to the new acquisitions over the next few years. It’s definitely a time of rapid and significant change, so it’s a really exciting time to be a part of the Group.”
PEOPLE ARE THE PRIORITY
“’Nothing is more important than our people’ is one of our Group Values, and to my mind, this should be the most important value of any company. It is evident from working at AAB that this is a significant priority throughout the firm, and it makes the world of difference knowing that you can have open and honest communications with your colleagues and leadership.”
DRIVE TO SUCCEED
“I believe my greatest strengths are my analytical and people skills, combined with my drive to succeed; I always give 100%.”
BEING PART OF THE TEAM
“The greatest compliment I’ve received in my work so far is that it feels like I have been on the team for years, despite joining in October 2022.”
