“TYPICALLY, ACCOUNTANTS ARE KNOWN TO BE ‘BORING’ – I CAN SAFELY SAY THIS IS NOT THE CASE.”

Being able to help junior members of staff develop and grow is something Chloe is passionate about. On any given day Chloe may find herself preparing and reviewing UK Tax Compliance for individuals and companies or she may be heavily involved in the development of junior members of the team.

QUICK TURNAROUNDS

“I love being able to turn around jobs quickly when we have pressing deadlines. It is very satisfying to exceed client expectations, knowing they appreciate the work you have done. I believe our clients are very aware that we will go above and beyond to meet any deadlines and provide a service they couldn’t get elsewhere. We strive to look out for issues and advise before we are questioned where possible.”

BALANCE IS KEY

“I think having a balance between a virtual and ‘hands-on’ approach to working with clients is important. Technology allows us to have tailored approaches depending on the client. For example, with Teams we are able to make calls with busy clients even on short notice. This is perfect if they have a couple of questions or even just to prevent meetings being rescheduled.”

TAKING ON THE CHALLENGE

“For me, I think one of the greatest challenges in my role would be balancing compliance deadlines to ensure every client receives the level of service they expect. To ensure I’m able to meet these deadlines, I work flexibly at all periods, prioritising client needs/wants. I respond to all this by trying to be as organised as possible which allows me to plan and consider any additional factors that may impact the industries my clients operate in.”

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

“The firm is growing at a fast pace which is exciting for all involved as it creates new opportunities. This is something I’ve directly benefitted from as I transferred from our Aberdeen office to the Edinburgh office in March 2022. AAB gives me the opportunity to continuously learn and develop in my career and I am excited to make the most out of every opportunity.”

COMMON MISCONCEPTION

“Typically, accountants are known to be ‘boring’ – I can safely say that I do not believe this to be the case following the multiple AAB parties I’ve been to!”
