Meet the Business Advisory team
SMEs. Owner managed businesses. Family businesses. Start-ups.
Statutory accounts preparation. Management accounts. Financial statements analysis. Cloud accounting assistance. Companies House filing.
Energy. Business services. Technology.
Oliver Warner is a Business Advisory Assistant Manager based in our Glasgow office. His role involves being a key point of contact for our clients, providing accurate and timely solutions to business queries and ensuring statutory compliance is met.
Oliver supports clients across a wide range of sectors including energy, business advisory & technology. He utilises technology to provide detailed and precise analysis of annual and management accounts. As an Assistant Manager, he also acts as a mentor providing junior members of the team with training, advice and support both in the workplace and as they sit their professional exams.
“An ideal client relationship is one where both sides are on the same page. Honesty and professionalism are part of our ethos at AAB and go a long way in building successful client relationships.
It’s important to have a full understanding of a client’s business, and that the client has a full understanding of the services we are providing. Clear communication is vital throughout any engagement, and both sides should feel comfortable and happy getting in touch with any queries, issues or just keeping in regular contact.
We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, accurate advisory services in a timely manner and support our clients in such a way to allow them to focus on the operational side of their business.
Seeing a client’s business succeed is very satisfying. An increase in turnover, customer satisfaction and of course profitability is what we strive to help our clients achieve, and it’s really rewarding when you see the results.”
“The nature of my role means that no two tasks or even two businesses are ever the same. This means that the time we spend with each client will vary depending on their needs. I’m a firm believer however, that each and every challenge is also an opportunity for learning. We are constantly widening our knowledge base and broadening our experience. We have different team members who are best qualified to pick up certain types of work and are most experienced in certain sectors, ensuring work is completed quickly and accurately.”
I love seeing a project succeed when multiple members of the team have collaborated, especially if some of them haven’t worked together before. Our wider team is large, and everyone has different strengths, so when these are utilised, and the team come together to achieve a collective goal it is extremely satisfying.”
“At AAB, nothing is more important than our people. The team I work with are knowledgeable in a wide range of departments, sectors & locations but they’re also good, friendly people that I enjoy working with. We improve and support each other as a team and the opportunities to learn, progress, and meet new people is unmatched.”
“My attention to detail, professionalism, friendliness and relaxed attitude in what can often be a deadline driven industry makes me an asset to AAB. I enjoy building relationships with colleagues and clients and my approachability makes me a good person to come to for professional advice and mentoring colleagues. I also have a very mathematical mind which is useful when dealing with complex financial problems and spotting errors and oversights when reviewing work.
I am looking forward to continuing to grow, explore new sectors and progress my career within AAB and it’ll be exciting to see what the future holds for the wider firm.”
“We are passionate about exceeding our clients’ expectations. One of my clients had sustained an injury that severely impacted their ability to run their business, so they required a lot of assistance with bookkeeping, reconciliations and general management of financial records ahead of their annual accounts. They told me that I really went above and beyond, and they were extremely grateful to me in a difficult period of their life.”
“There is a consensus that people think the work we do can be boring, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Every day you deal with different challenges and different clients and no two days are the same – one of the great advantages of working within business advisory!”
