“There’s always a solution.”

Kate is an Audit Partner based in our Dublin office and has been with the company since 2004. A Trinity graduate, she qualified in audit before briefly working in Sydney and returning to Ireland to continue building her portfolio. Kate has a particular focus on internationally-owned tech entities, new businesses establishing a presence in Ireland, and more recently, companies operating in the Web3 and Blockchain space.

Alongside client work, Kate works closely with our internal departments on people development and supports the firm’s charity initiatives each year.

An ever-evolving portfolio

“My week is usually a mix of audit compliance and general advisory. I am an auditor, but within that I am always looking for the opportunity to add value to our clients.

I look after a broad range of clients, a lot of internationally-owned tech companies operating in Ireland, retail and e-commerce businesses, health and wellness brands, and companies operating in the Web3 and digital asset space. That’s a fascinating area for me.

My client base is constantly evolving, and I am always looking for new opportunities. I got involved in the digital asset space through referrals from our international association, and decided to up-skill in that area. In 2025 I completed a course that included modules on accounting for on-chain transactions, accounting standards and audit, and treasury management. There’s a huge amount to learn in this emerging industry.”

Getting the foundations right

“A lot of my newer clients are coming into Ireland for the first time, often through referrals. The first step is education. Many are surprised by the level of compliance required to operate a business in Ireland. We are here to guide and support them through the process. If you’re clear on deliverables early on, you avoid last-minute pressure later.

For me, it’s about laying the right foundations from day one so clients can focus on building their business, knowing the compliance side is structured properly.”

Supporting the wider community

“I work closely with our charity committee each year, helping to select our charity partner and organise fundraising events across the firm.

Our social responsibility is something I really value. It brings people together internally, but it also reminds us that we’re part of a wider community.

We have always taken community partnership seriously, and it’s important to me that we give something back. It’s not about making big statements, it’s about consistent involvement and doing what we can.”

Understanding their version of success

“What I enjoy most about my role as a partner is being part of someone’s journey. Every client has a different goal. Some are just starting out. Some are building something to pass on to their children. Others are serial entrepreneurs who just keep going despite all the speed bumps they may hit along the way.

Success means different things to different people, and it’s a privilege to be part of the journey, whatever that looks like for them.”

Looking ahead with AAB

“What mattered to me about joining AAB was that they share the same client-focused approach. Everyone we’ve worked with has the same priorities around service and relationships. It widens what we can offer clients without changing how we work with them.

I’m also interested in how we can use technology, including AI, to make audit work more efficient. If it helps us improve processes without compromising quality, that’s a positive. There’s always something new to learn. That’s what keeps it interesting.”
