“In auditing, we’re all working towards one goal.”

Erin Goonan is an Audit Assistant Manager in our Audit team based in our Edinburgh office.

Erin’s days are made up of leading the operations of the audit team, acting as a key point of contact between the audit team and clients and other parties involved in providing services to the client.

Diverse & varied

“My role allows me to work with a diverse group of people day in and day out. From the teams within AAB that I work alongside to my extensive client base, the experience I gain from interacting with and learning from others is invaluable.

Our clients want a high-quality provision of services and that is something I ensure the audit team are delivering. It’s important we really dedicate time and focus to each client. I think we’re able to conduct audits successfully because of the emphasis we place on open and honest communication with clients before, during and after an audit takes place.”

Growing client base

“I love being able to work closely with clients in a more hands on, face-to-face approach. This links closely to my emphasis on relationship building with my clients. However, I like that AAB, as a tech-enabled business, gives me the option to utilise technology, meaning that where it is suitable for the client I can carry out work remotely. As our client base grows and work becomes more complex, I’ve began to recognise the importance of analytics and data to aid the work we do and services we provide.”

Positive working environment

“I think one of my greatest strengths is my communication skills. I build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, helping me to create a positive working environment which is so important as a manager.”

Exciting future ahead for AAB

“AAB has already grown so much recently, and I know that the company isn’t done yet. There is still lots of growth on the way and I am really excited to see where the business can grow and develop for the better.”
