Members of AAB’s Fundraising Committee and 100 day challenge teams accompanied Sarah-Jane Hogg of Friends of Anchor to the Anchor Unit of the ARI on Monday 21 October to see for themselves the cool cap machine which was purchased using money raised by us during our 100 day challenge earlier this year (pictured below). The machine, which cost in the region of £7,900, is being put to good use in the Oncology Ward of the Anchor Unit to help to prevent hair loss during chemotherapy. Up till now patients have had to share machines with the chemotherapy clinic which sometimes entailed delaying treatment until they were sure a machine was available. Also pictured is Senior Charge Nurse Margaret Mathieson of the Unit.
