The Serious Fraud Office have hardened their stance on facilitation payments, corporate hospitality and self reporting.

They have recently published their revised policies which clearly identify their primary role as the major investigator and prosecutor of serious and/or complex fraud, including bribery and corruption in the UK and internationally.

The change in approach from the SFO emphasises the need to ensure that your company’s own Bribery Act policies, controls and adequate procedures are in place.
