AAB Strengthens Leadership Team with Five Partner Appointments

AAB Strengthens Leadership Team with Five Partner Appointments

AAB, the tech enabled business critical services group, has strengthened its leadership team across the UK with five new partners as part of the group’s ambitious growth plans.

Four of the new appointments are internal promotions with Alasdair Green, Lauren McIlroy, Katy Christiansen, located in Aberdeen, and James Hunt, based in Leeds, becoming partners from 1 April 2022. In addition, Paula Fraser joined the group as tax partner in the Edinburgh office.

Alasdair leads AAB’s Energy Team, working with a range of clients on a variety of areas including strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), fundraising and consulting. He works closely with all the business units across the AAB group and is involved in key internal corporate development initiatives across the business.  He also leads environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities for the group.

Lauren heads up the Virtual Finance Function (VFF) team at AAB. VFF is a bespoke financial solution which ranges from providing seamless support to internal finance teams, to delivering the entire finance function. AAB is at the forefront of this approach, which harnesses technology and cloud accounting, to empower businesses to be agile and responsive.

Katy leads AAB’s UK and Global Payroll offering. Katy and her team are dedicated to helping businesses navigate the increasingly complex requirements of payroll, both nationally and internationally, whilst working with them to streamline and integrate their operations in a cost- effective and efficient way.

James is a key leadership team member in Leeds, and in the business advisory and VFF team. He is experienced in leading audits for a variety of different businesses, ranging from law firms and manufacturing companies to larger international groups. He also heads up the industrial sector team.

Paula has significant experience of working with high-net-worth families, private clients and entrepreneurs, having held senior positions in Big Four and mid-tier firms over the last 25 years. She specialises in providing a holistic advisory service dedicated to protecting and maximising personal and family wealth.

Graeme Allan, AAB Chief Executive commented “The constant drive and focus on building and investing in our team is a fundamental part of our culture. These partner appointments not only demonstrate the depth of talent being developed across the group, but also our ability to attract top talent to our business.

“It is fantastic to recognise the contributions of Alasdair, Lauren, Katy and James with these promotions, all of which are richly deserved. We are also delighted to welcome Paula, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the group.

“Each of our new partners will play a key role in developing their own areas of expertise, as well as supporting the delivery of the group’s growth strategy. As a leadership team, we will continue to develop our portfolio of tech-enabled services to meet the changing needs of our clients across the UK and globally.”
